Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee says he was surprised by John McCains pick of Sarah Palin because he believes the only difference between himself and the Alaska governor is she looks better in stilettos than I do.
Reflecting on the Palin pick in an interview with the New Yorker posted Monday, Huckabee told the magazine that I was scratching my head, saying, Hey, wait a minute. Shes wonderful, but the only difference was she looks better in stilettos than I do, and she has better hair.
Huckabee insisted that Palin was given a pass by some of the very people who said I wasnt prepared. It wasnt so much a gender issue, but it was like they suddenly decided that everything they disliked about me was O.K, he said.

I don’t understand why anyone would be bitter about not being selected for a losing ticket?
Typical butcher journalism, taking the parts they want to make a story of and throwing the rest (including the context and perhaps whatever Huckbee’s points were) onto the floor.
No story here, except that Huckabee is fairly candid man.
Hoo, boy. That Huck is a gut-bustin’ hoot. I just can’t quit laughing! We shoulda picked him for his wit and humor.
/SARC OFF
Huckster a cross dresser? Don't quit your day job Mike.
How often do you think he straps on his stilettos? And shouldn’t he be a bit ashamed to admit this?
Do you smoke cigarettes?
If he wore stilettos Politico would only be blogging nice things about him.
He doesn’t hunt moose or ride in a snow mobile and she never attacked Romney as somebody who believes Satan was Christ’s brother because he(Romney) was Mormon.
Huckabee is one of the most glib, sharpe, well-spoken people I have ever heard. He is never at a loss for words. He probably would have chewed up Obama and spit him out for breakfast, but I’m not sure he would have had the same impact as Palin did.
And the thought of Huckabee in high heels is, frankly disgusting.
While Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin have children they are so proud to show off...Huckabee keeps his children well hidden.
Wonder why???
sw
agreed
I watched hucks new show on fox, I think the 1st one and he never had any really good words on Sarah or McCain.
I was surprised that Huck never got out there as much supporting McCain too.
I don’;t know if he is sore but he sure is making a few moaning comments as is the GOP.
They need to stop , get rid of the RINO’S like Arnie and target the illegal money obama got., infact ban it like pre paid credit cards.
They need to stop ACORN doing all of their illegal votes.
They need to go after the media and name names in the media to embarrass them.
If they do not then the GOP will only face all of it
I hope Huck shuts up moaning and gets to do what is said above
I would pay good money to see Huckabee campaign in stilettos. Who knows? He might actually have better legs than Palin does...
(Yeah, and monkeys might fly out of Palin’s butt, too!)
Gomer needs to stop deluding himself.
Huck is the kid on the playground who talked smacked about everyone behind their back, and got the crap kicked outta him two seconds later.
Exactly. He started in on Palin a week or so ago on his show, running that Letterman hit piece clip of her in the kitchen with the house blowing up. The audience wasn't amused according to a report here.
"She walks into the hot spotlight and shes a blank slate...."
Why isn't he whining about TheSealedOne*?
This isn’t shaking my impression that Huckabee is kind of an idiot. I don’t see what folks see in him. He KEEPS DOING STUFF LIKE THIS. It’s not a one-off.
Dear Mike, I’m a Conservative. You’re NOT! Please drop dead!
THAT! I'd pay to see........NOT!
Can you imagine what the media would have done to McCain had he picked a Southern preacher as his running mate? They tried really hard to smear Governor Palin for her “weird” religion, so just imagine Huckabee instead.
It would be amazing if Huckabee could come back from whining like that to be a serious candidate.
I don’t remember people complaining that Huckabee wasn’t experienced enough. I remember them complaining that he spent too much money, was too invested in the idea of a christian compassionate conservative government role, and for most of his career had been too friendly to illegal immigrants.
And he had a habit of acting like God had chosen him as the only real candidate to be the “Christian Leader”.
