Thanksgiving is next week, and President Bush could make it a really special holiday by resigning.
Seriously. We have an economy that’s crashing and a vacuum at the top. Bush — who is currently on a trip to Peru to meet with Asian leaders who no longer care what he thinks — hasn’t got the clout, or possibly even the energy, to do anything useful. His most recent contribution to resolving the fiscal crisis was lecturing representatives of the world’s most important economies on the glories of free-market capitalism.
Putting Barack Obama in charge immediately isn’t impossible. Dick Cheney, obviously, would have to quit as well as Bush. In fact, just to be on the safe side, the vice president ought to turn in his resignation first. (We’re desperate, but not crazy.) Then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would become president until Jan. 20. Obviously, she’d defer to her party’s incoming chief executive, and Barack Obama could begin governing.

Yeah, all this stuff is really, really creepy. I saw one of those “Obama coin” commercials and noticed that they used the word “plated”. I don’t remember hearing that used before and don’t know if it was from this Franklin Mint outfit, but I thought it telling that it was a “plated” coin.

Oh, it’s beyond derangement - TIME and Newsweak covers were on my local newstand (no, I wouldn’t bother to pick up either rag to see what those bozos actually wrote about him) — once cover likens him to FDR, the other has him channelling Abe Lincoln and calls it his “HUMILITY” - yes, I threw up all over the magazine rack.
Good heavens, the guy hasn’t even taken office and the Mediascum wants to pretend he belongs in the “top 4” Presidents all-time (no, I don’t put FDR there, but liberal Mediascum sure do).
It’s the “humility” of Obama to liken himself to Lincoln, yeah, I really love that one......

Actually, the reason President Bush should resign is so that VP Dick “Darth Vader” Cheney can be sworn in as President by Chief Justice John Roberts and serve for two months as POTUS.
THAT would be so much fun because we would get to watch all the lib heads exploding, all the convulsions of rage throughout the Mediascum, etc.
I know that Pres. Bush is much too serious and responsible a man even to consider such a thing, but it is fun to think about...... :^)
