This is just plain stupid. Never ending. Please. Even the depression had an ending. This will be over in two to three years.

We paid to get out of the depression with the lives of 438,000 service men.

These are the beginning days of the new dark ages.

Even the depression had an ending...But FDR didn't have a country that was 100 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT!
Our GPD is currently about 14 TRILLION PER YEAR!
This means that for every dollar we produce, we owe seven dollars and change.
This will not end in our lifetime.

If prices are falling, why would anyone buy today if they could put off purchases until tomorrow?
Rare, yes. Stupid, no.

This is just plain stupid. Never ending. Please. Even the depression had an ending. This will be over in two to three years. The depression ended when we got into WWII, reduced our workforce, and increased demand for the first time in a long time. Roosevelt started out with not much national debt to speak of, and delayed recovery for several years. Obama has a national debt equal to several years worth of spending and no real hope of actually expanding our economy. Two to three years is very optimistic.

The depression lasted 12 years!
The current one I predict will last at least 10 yeats.

I believe that given enough time these problems will adjust buy themselves. However in the industry that I'm in(Telecommunication) we are already seeing a drastic pull back in new capital spending. Many of my colleagues as am I
are seeing upgrades and new system procurements being stop by CFO’s with no indication of when or if the the purchase will happen. If this last two or three years a lot of people will be put to the street with no hope of finding a job in their field.

Even the depression had an ending. Yes...World War II!
What this article addresses is the need to create a climate of trust again.
Once trust is lost, it is very difficult to replace.
A government hell-bent on robbing producers to pay-off loafers won't get the job done.
