The government-affairs director of the AFL-CIO said he is certain that organized labor's top priority -- a law that would make it much easier for unions to organize businesses both large and small -- will pass Congress and be signed by President Barack Obama.
"I have no doubt it will pass and will be signed," William Samuel told reporters and editors of The Washington Times. He was referring to the Employee Free Choice Act, which would give workers the right to join a union as soon as a majority of them signed cards requesting union representation.
In a wide-ranging interview Wednesday, Mr. Samuel also said that the more than $300 million spent by labor unions to educate workers was crucial to the Democrats' success in key battleground states, such as Ohio and Michigan.

And then, let ‘em answer this: Why is it that, currently, when I call Microsoft for Tech support, I always get India or Indonesia?? Hum??
unions are parasites.
This will result in violence in the workplace.
Unions screwed up Detroit. Why not the rest of the country?
Orwell must be beaming in his grave.
“Employee Free Choice Act” - how to coerce workers to join unions by physical and other intimidation.
“Fairness Doctrine” - how to ensure that only one side of a political discussion is heard on the airwaves.
And many, many others I’m sure.
If I still owned or advised a business of any size- I would recommend that they lay off everyone except family. Sell family very small shares of business and make them owners.
Tell NObama and UNIONS to pound sand.
The auto business in this country would not be in the mess they are in without the demands of the unions.
It better pass, I just got a call from a union boss that he’s sending his thugs in with lead pipes.

Further guaranteeing that more manufacturing jobs leave the U.S.
“Undocumented worker”and “getting to back of the line” are two that come to mind.
This had better be challenged in court.
IF my story is any indication, there may be a silver lining
Two weeks ago, I had to view a new video at my workplace. It explained the negative consequences of signing your name to a union card. The union person would misrepresent signing your name to a union card, saying it was “no big deal”. But it was a big deal to the union, meaning they could legally deduct money from your salary as union dues, and use their cover as a protected union as justification. The video said, for your own protection, don’t sign a union card unless the company says it’s okay to do so
So, it’s ironic. Unlike in the early 1900’s, the roles are now reversed. It’s your own company looking out for your interests, and it’s the union who’s trying to exploit you for the most bucks possible
I hope that companies all over the country are taking matters into their own hands and starting their own “grassroots” response to this. Grassroots can be for capitalists and Republicans too, and not just for liberals, socialists, and Obama Democrats
Bought and paid for, my friends.
Knock Knock
Yes...
Your local union reps noticed that youse forgot to sign youse union card. I came to help youse remember. Nice house, nice family... hope nothing happens to them...
If this disaster passes...all those Japanese car companies who set up shop in the US are toast. THey will nor tolerate this BS here and they will leave as quickly as they came.
Yes...
Your local union reps noticed that youse forgot to sign youse union card. I am now brandishing a handgun... I... uhhh..came...uhhhh.... to...uhhh.... help youse uuuhhh... remember. Nice house, nice family, nice gun... hope nothing happens to me...
Is more thew way it will go at my house.
The Japanese car companies will move to Right to Work states. Oklahoma passed ours several years ago — GM closed the plant and the union said it was because of Right to Work but the bottom line was that the GM union would strike at the drop of a hat and production was much lower then the GM plant that stayed open in TX in another Right to Work state.

Solid south and the strip up through the center of the Country once again voted for Right to Work. Kind of telling when you look at the map — all but FL, VA, and NC voted for McCain and without ACORN fraud, they might have as well.
The economy in most of these states is also in pretty good shape compared to where the unions are organized.
Oh, yes, I’m sure you’ll resist.
Do you have the organization behind you that the unions do?
How about the 50.1% of your fellow co-workers that will not resist?
Then, you’ll be working in a hostile union shop, and have a nice target printed on your back.
No, much better to make sure this atrocity never gets implemented.
We live in a Right to Work State, but how do you think that will be affected by federal legislation? We’ve been wanting to grow our construction business so my husband won’t be doing so much physical labor when he’s in his 50’s and beyond. The thought of having to deal with a union, in any form, would completely push that idea off that table.
The lefties have no idea the negative impact on business and the economy.
