GOP congressman: 'It is not your money'
World Net Daily ^ | By Joe Kovacs

Posted on 11/19/2008 6:17:04 PM PST by Desron13

Cavuto asked Knollenberg: "When the housing industry CEOs come to you and say, 'You know, [if] we go under and all the ancillary businesses – the dishwasher manufacturers, the washer-and-dryer manufacturers, the Lowe's and the Home Depots that vastly depend on our being alive and vibrant – if we go under, there's hell to pay. And then the textile manufacturer comes to you and says, 'If we go down, there's hell to pay.' And on and on and on we go. Where do you draw the line with our money?"

"It is not your money," said Knollenberg.

Cavuto screamed back, "It is! It is taxpayers money!"

Knollenberg claimed dealers are not selling cars right now because "there's no credit to get."

He explained, "If we could just remove that problem, and this is what we're trying to do, then we'd be in the position to sell cars."

The truth of "fiat" money. It ain't your money, if you stay honest. And if you are dishonest you get as much as you want, as long as you align with those in power. Fiat money is political money, money created for political purposes.

The Rep was over-the-top and no longer representing those citizens who granted him his agency of being a member of the US House -- but -- he was honest. Honesty is important. Don't deny the fact of matter, it now is as he said it is.

Life is full of choices. The choice to be honest, at many eras and times in human history has meant pretty rough times. Especially in comparison to those who seem to have so much -- gained by force, and not fair market contract.

Fiat money, fit for a a culture of thievery -- yours is mine and mine is mine. And that is what the bailout is playing out to be.

Still, honesty is the only real gold. Stay honest, be honest. My only advice to give at times like this.

Thought the veins in Cavuto’s neck were about to explode hearing that ridiculous statement. If he had any sense he’d regret appearing today but the man resides in cuckoo land.

"every day i got to toss out some bank seeking me out to offer me credit. if you cant get a loan, it is probably due to very poor credit or a inability to pay. when did having a brand new car become a right?!!!"

I have never owned a credit card. In my opinion, they are one of the great scourges of the modern world. If you cant do with a debit card (and I'm starting to worry about those), you need to reduce your expenses. PERIOD!

The fed culture is so unbelievably wasteful and all consuming.

Its ALWAYS BOOM TIME IN DC, and for all of their connected friends.

Have you been to DC lately?

There are buildings going up all over the place and people are walking around with smiles on their faces worry free.

The only sane career path at this point is to get on with somebody doing long term federal contracts and buy lots of gold.

These DC politicians truly are the enemy of the working man.

Neil is by far the best of FNC, next is Megn kelly on at 9-11am. they really grill dems on these issues, without the canned Hannity talking points. They really press them using facts and figures.

I don't think it would bother them much. They seem to be doing just fine spending money they don't have right now. I don't see how us not paying taxes would change anything.

There are some who would argue that it’s always better to have an R in a congressional seat than a D.

Personally, I think that wolves in sheep’s clothing (rinos) are much more dangerous than wolves who don’t hide the fact that they’re wolves (dems).

Knollenberg claimed dealers are not selling cars right now because "there's no credit to get."

This revolting little nitwit is typical of the idiots we are electing to government at all levels these days. His tiny little mind just can't come to grips with the concept that the money is gone and there is no one left to borrow any more from. He has no understanding of how wealth is created and grown. As far as I can tell, he believes that the serfs of America are a never ending stream of money for his and his elitist cronies benefit. Now I have to stop posting on my own thread. If I don't stop thinking about this, I'll need dentures by morning.

Yep...since many of us won’t trade in and go into deeper debt they are demanding we still make a car payment whether we buy a car or not. What’s next? Insurance on no car?

I don’t mind that this Republican was defeated. Hopefully, the GOP can find someone much better to regain the district.

If we stand true to our principles, eventually the country will come around.

I wouldn't count on it. No - we have to reach them. Surrounded by this liberal MSM they won't just discover conservatism on their own. We need politicins who can speak and persuade. And we need evangelists not choir directors.

we have 2, both bankcards, but we only use them for a major purchase, but mostly we have them in case of a emergency. we live frugally, if we cant afford to pay cash we dont buy. nearly every one i know is the same way. it is not a hard way to live!
i will say it bugs my arse to no end that we live within our means and now have to bail out credit card holders who did not have enough common sense to stay on budget. worse they get to keep the big screen tv's (of which we dont own) and all types of frivolous purchases!
i have not been able to give up my checks yet for a debit card. what are your concerns regarding those?

"It is not your money," said Knollenberg.

Cavuto screamed back, "It is! It is taxpayers money!"

That is a stretch. Cavuto did not scream. Can't recall that I've ever heard Cavuto scream in many years of watching.

They don't want to make buying a car a right. The want to make making and selling a car a right.

No one in his right mind would finance a new car even if he can get credit out the rear, only to have it repo'd within a year when he loses his job, and then be responsible for the difference between what he owes and what some wholesaler bought it for.

What the Big 3 want is sales like they had before the mortgage crisis and gas crisis. Who doesn't? Not happening. Ever.

Too funny, I too feel this way. And then I think, thank God I won’t be around when this whole country goes to hell. But then my grandkids will be, so sad.
