I have a hard time believing those exit polling numbers are correct for Catholics. My in-laws in Upstate NY and FL who are Catholic and Dems all voted for McCain and so did their friends.

Catholics in Oklahoma sure didn’t vote for Obama in big numbers. He didn’t even get 95% of black votes in OK.

Where did the numbers come from on Catholics? I haven’t talked to one Catholic that voted for Obama but then they all knew about his favoring partial birth abortion killing of babies.

True persecution of people of faith could be on the horizon.

I've been saying for a long time that devout Catholics and Evangelical Protestants need to start paying more attention to what we have in common than we do to our differences because it won't be long until we are sharing cells with each other.

I’ll put it this way. And I’m going to narrow the comment only to Catholics who voted in this election, and not to ALL Catholics. If the crowd before Pontius Pilate were composed of the Catholics who voted in this election, half would want Jesus freed, and half would want Barabbas freed. The Barabbas supporters would be the Catholics who voted for Obama.

I find it very telling that the Pope does not speak up on this. Bishops in dioceses where it is overwhelmingly pro life might be speaking up, but if its in a diocese where it may cause a drop off in the offering plate there is dead silence. A universal condemnation from the Pope would affect church wide giving and therefore is not going to happen.

To me, assuming I fully comprehend the love Jesus had for children, it is not possible for people who profess devotion to Jesus to vote for Obama.

If 0bama signs FOCA, it’s time for the RCC to remind everyone why we have statues of martyrs in our churchs. I’m not talking about anyone losing their life. I’m talking about excommunicating every so-called Catholic politico who votes for it, shutting down Catholic hospitals, etc.

We’d take beating in the short term and be ridiculed. But, it would be a stronger church in the end and we would probably gain as members as we would lose by retaining our integrity.

If the Church were to close down hospitals all over the U.S., what’s to stop Obama from confiscating private property and reopening it under federal control?

Don’t tell me it’s illegal because the commies don’t care.

If the Catholic Church discovers that there are sins other than murder this country will be set right. Thou shall not covet thy neighbors’ goods(wealth)

“Where did the numbers come from on Catholics? I haven’t talked to one Catholic that voted for Obama but then they all knew about his favoring partial birth abortion killing of babies.”

There are thousands of Catholic Dems in Illinois who voted for Obama. They always vote Democrat. One reason I can’t attend church on a regular basis anymore. Talked to my pastor and he defended the Catholic Church position of support of the Democrat Party. I’m sure this is how it is in cities all over the USA.

Just as Jesus was stripped of His garments, many priests and prophecies (Our Lady of Good Success IIRC) have stated the Church will be stripped (property, churches, etc) as she makes her way to Calvary.

EHarmony just caved. Let’s hope we don’t.

I would just like the Catholic church to give a strong anti-abortion message in plain unequivocal language.

I'm sure whatever god they are actually praying to that dispenses that sort of guidance will serve them justly in the coming months.

Trust me, the numbers on Catholic voters is correct and it very possibly cost McCain the election (Kerry only got 47% of Catholics and as militant as Obama is he should have gotten less and Catholics make up about 25% of total voters).

However, it is also McCain’s fault because he NEVER made abortion an issue.
