WXYZ) ABC News is reporting that House Democratic leaders have voted to strip Michigan Representative John Dingell of his chairmanship of the House Energy and Commerce committee.
The entire House Democratic caucus will have to vote on this tomorrow morning.
The secret ballot vote of the House steering committee was 25 to 22.
Dingell is the longest serving Democratic member of the House.
bttt
Believe it or not Dingell actually supports gun rights.
I don't know if that had anything to do with it........
]
The more likely reason is that he has fought higher CAFE standards for years due to the effect on auto jobs. This is the first step towards forcing the auto industry to build only 1.2 liter Yugo Hybrids that run on electricity.
The second step is to wait for Obama’s inaugural and then come up with a larger bailout plan that includes forcing the re-tooling of all plants to build the type of car that the environmentalists want.
The third step is to put a tax on all cars that are not ‘environmentally friendly’, as defined by Washington. The tax will fall disproportionally on the Toyota, Honda, et al, plants in the South that are not unionized.
The left will not miss the opportunity to use the auto industry as their guinea pig.
Not only does Dingell support gun rights...
I recall hearing him doing a “purple-faced rage” speech about some
Fed law enforcement group (BATF?) and yelling at the top of his lungs
that they were Jack-booted Thugs.
I think this was a bit after Ruby Ridge and the Branch Davidian event.
(I do note there’s no mention of the jack-boots in Wikipedia article:
never speak ill of fellow Democrats/Liberals/Socialists/Communists, I guess)

“
An avid sportsman and hunter, he strongly opposes gun control,
and is a former board member of the National Rifle Association.
For many years, Dingell has received an A+ rating from the NRA.
“
Bad week for the atate of Michigan.
Once again the democrat party took one out of the plantation house and put him back in the field.

Secret ballot?
I though the left was against that (unions anyway).
Rated A+ by the NRA.
Based on this, the B3 would have to be absolutely insane to continue seeking govt bailout...if there were strings before, they were nothing compared to what Congress will come up with now. If the B3 go along with it, just for a little jingle in the pocket, they deserve to fail.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Dingell's, but he's at least got a notion of what the econazis are doing to the auto industry.
As, hmm, I think it was Tip O’Neil said, “all politics is local”.
ewwww
Yeah, a DEM SAID it FIRST, a Repub, W's dad, repeated it, and the left-wing media assigned the ORIGINAL quote to W's dad, NEVER mentioning the dem who said it FIRST (like Rush calling Obama the "magic Negro", somethoing that was ORIGINALLY quoted by Al Sharpton, I believe).
As far as Henry "Nostrilitus" Waxman (the UGLIEST creature in congress) goes, it sounds as if the deck is being stacked in congress AND Hussein's admin for a BIG push for more Draconian gun control than we've EVER seen before, including 1968.
BUY GUNS, AMMUNITION, AND MAGAZINES NOW, WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

Dingell had a brain attack (stroke) awhile back and is not all there. On local tv here, he makes Byrd look like a genius. The best thing he’s got going for him these day’s is an attractive wife.
Ummmmm He sits on the NRA Board of Directors? One of the most pro gun Dems in history. Think it's a move to prevent stalling any antigun legislation? You betcha!
