No, aren’t big on social or sport activities. ;)
But, when cuddling with something, I’d like it to be round and soft without all these elbows and legs sticking into me! And that purring....can’t beat it. (And I do have one cat that will do tricks - fetch, sit, stay, shake, beg, jump through hoops, speak, etc. She knows 24 tricks. She’s as good as a dog in that respect!)

Cats bathe themselves, go to the bathroom by themselves and entertain themselves. Low maintenance. : )
Thats how I like my men, too! LOL! Then there is that whole "lid" thing, but I digress...

My mom always says that a cat’s purr is the most soothing sound on earth.

On the other hand, I was just discussing with a friend how dogs are like men, cats like women. Men's needs (and dogs) are rather simple and few. If they're met, they're happy and life is good. Cats, on the other hand, seem to have a vast array of emotions. You never know when you'll get an unexpected reaction and something that was great yesterday will just be ignored today. I find cats to be more of a challenge and pretty complex creatures. I just hope my hubby sees me as a challenge too and not just difficult!

Cats think they’re gods. Dogs think we’re gods.

Rush is correct. Lower price for gasoline is a double edged sword. I wish more Conservatives had a better grasp on economics. They would not be so sanguine spending $2/gallon. It scares the crap out of me. It was better at $4. $4/gallon meant we had growing demand pressing up against supply. The antidote to higher prices was more supply. Now we could see prices go up and no additional supply. Meanwhile our lower prices are just reflecting a slowdown.

Oh man, maybe this is sacrilegious, but all I can think of is ‘God made man’ - that is, God became man through Jesus Christ. They are setting Obama up as some kind of god, and look folks - he’s just like you are! He’s deigned to come down here among us and act like us, but you know he’s not really one of us, he’s the Messiah.
Makes me wanna hurl.

I believe there was a study on that very thing. Good for folks with heart problems or something like that.

The very best cat we ever had around was convinced that he was a Doberman. Never saw a coyote within a mile of our house until a month after he finally died. (Age 14 or so, and still kicking all of the other toms around like sofa pillows)
The worst dog acted like she was a Siamese. Ate, slept, pooped on the ground and didn’t like anything including her own sweet self. Finally walked out in the road in front of a truck one morning (expecting it to recognize the passage of royalty no doubt) and not even the youngest grandkids were affected to the point that they even mentioned their usual and customary pet burial rites.
