I’ve applied for my FOID card here in Illinois. Long overdue but no time like the present!
As much as I hate to say it, if the last part is true, the first part is kinda scary...
Stupid people and guns generally are not a good mix.
Where about in Illinois are you located?
It’s not the mix you are thinking.
Obama supporters, yes, but individuals who realize, at some basic level, that there is a coming confrontation, between those who shall defend what they have, and those who will come rampaging through just taking from those who are defenseless.
In the minds of the Obama supporters who see this possibility, they incorrectly see themselves as being set upon by the “knuckle-dragging” NRA types. They do not realize that the real danger is going to be from the “National Security Defense Force”, the “civilian” army that Obama is going to unlease upon the American public, as kind of a national “police force”, and the REAL threat whom we shall have to be defending against.
Remember the seizure of guns that took place in New Orleans after the Katrina disaster? Extend this to the national scale, and that is what is coming. This “National Security Defense Force” will be going door to door to collect the guns and ammunition, and the Obama supporters will of course give theirs up readily to the “friendly” protectors of the “peace”.
Expect a lot of shoot-outs on the order of the Black Panthers, in Oakland in 1968, and in Philadelphia in 1970, when they had declared war on the local police. Only this time, the Black Panthers will be operating under cover of government “legality”.
It will look a lot like the regime of François Duvalier, who was the notorious ruler of Haiti throughout the 1960s. Duvalier was a physician (the source of his nickname, “Papa Doc”) who worked in the Haitian government beginning in the mid-1940s. With the army’s support, he was elected to the presidency in 1957. In 1964 he declared himself president for life and indeed, stayed president until his death in 1971, when his son, Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier, succeeded him. Papa Doc was an expert in voodoo who ruled Haiti with brute force and terror, with a ruthless security force, the Tontons Macoutes, acting as real-life bogeymen who routinely executed his opponents.
Why do we accept limits on one of our Constitutional freedoms?
We wouldn’t accept being able to practice free speech one or two times per month. Do we have limits on how many times we don’t have to testify against ourselves?
Personally, I think the reason is deeper and involves what a socialist/communist totalitarian government might do after confiscation.

Hey! Thanks for this info...it slipped my mind! This will come in handy in a few months when I have to teach about Black History Month.
Good deal H !!....large numbers of any group be it sea shell collectors or dog catchers gets the attention of polidiots pandering for votes.
You just added one more number to the offical 2nd amendment supporters count IMO !
Stay safe and Keep the Faith !!!
It’s an oxymoron.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I suppose you are being sarcastic but it is not actually an oxymoron, it is only an indication that at least two idiots are identified by name in this article.
Well, you're half right. I'm not sure about the "oxy" part though.
Georgia has at least two morons.
Funny how the government is going to take care of all us and people are buying guns to protect themselves from whom?
Why are we feeling so ominously unprotected?
(It's rhetorical question)
That is what I percieve to be the real threat as well.
Pity these people aren't that smart. Perhaps they do not remember Ruby Ridge, Waco, Gordon Kahl, or numerous others who have been beset by Federal Agents, ostensibly with "good cause".
PapaDoc and BabyDoc were two 'little Hitlers' in recent history, but keep in mind also that Obamites had Che on the office wall. He was no saint, either, only the NYT and the State Department managed to think he and Castro were going to have a Democratic Government.
We 'hillbillies' out here in 'flyover country' are not the threat to gunowners who are not for our disarmament, but any fool who could support DUH1 and think HE is not the threat to our RKBA not only has another think coming, but really ought to be carefully watched around a firearm.
They aren't nearly as bright as the dumbest kid I have seen squirrel hunting, and they are likely to hurt someone.

Well, that will make for more 'pick-up' pieces when the 'job openings' appear.
Actually, I expect they will pick out a few folks to 'make examples of', and try to cow the rest of us into submission. Then the brutality will become apparent, and people will know, (as many as can be told), who the real threat is, especially if no one comes to the aid of those who are attacked early on.

Yep, and Jindal pushed through a new law in 2006 to prevent such seizures, but that doesn’t mean the govt won’t simply try to outlaw guns or ammo in general. It was really galling because all of those cops that were seizing guns after Katrina had sworn an oath to uphold the US Constitution, but I doubt that most even know what it says.

I don’t see where used prices online have changed much.
It has their king as well ...
LOL!
