BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger opened his international climate change summit on Tuesday by upstaging himself with an even bigger political star — President-elect Barack Obama.

Schwarzenegger, a Republican whose efforts to combat global warming in California have generated worldwide acclaim, wants to show that governments can balance environmental protection and economic growth.

California is already suffering a huge budget deficit, and they open a summit to discuss how to drive more industry to countries where they can pollute even more. Grand.

I wonder if these two buffoons actually think they can do something about natural climate change. If so, it’s too bad they weren’t around during the last ice age. We’d all be cool all of the time and could go skiing year round.

When the data showed cooling the last 11 years, they had to change the label quick.

Reminds me of the old Dilbert cartoon where Ralph fell into the huge industrial soup vat. His coworker yells to the boss about poor Ralph in the vat and his boss yells back and tells him to change the can labels to “extra chunky”.

It might be better if the Governor were focused on the state’s impending bankruptcy rather than ridiculous nonense like “Climate Change” — but what do I know?

Obama is GREAT at making appearances and waving to the crowd. His speeches are hollow and he doesn't really grasp the issues.

I think his presidency will be lots of show and flash but little substance. America is getting tired of his “cameo” appearances. They dazzle the audience but the rest of us are watching Rome burn. No comments on the market slide, the GM bankruptcy, the bailout mess, the auto mfr bailout mess. Nothing but cameo appearances. It's like the fool is still campaigning. That's all he knows how to do!

A budget has definable red and black characteristics. Too hard for Arnie. Global warming aka climate change is murky and therefore takes less effort to appear to be doing something. A great refuge for someone who is over his head. Same for The One.

The only house I have ever bought is in San Francisco, on my side of the street there are 5 houses, 3 Chinese, 1 Russian and our Texan/French family. The food smells great but all four other houses have no less than three families in each. Ours is the only one with one family.
