Alan Keyes Seeks to Block Electoral Vote for Barack Obama

According to a press release from the American Independent Party, former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and other members of the party have filed suit in California Superior Court in Sacramento to stop the state from giving its electoral votes to President-elect Barack Obama until documentary evidence is provided to prove Obama is indeed a natural born citizen of the United States.

When he was asked why his suit was being filed, Ambassador Keyes commented:

"I and others are concerned that this issue be properly investigated and decided before Senator Obama takes office. Otherwise there will be a serious doubt as to the legitimacy of his tenure. This doubt would also affect the respect people have for the Constitution as the supreme law of the land. I hope the issue can be quickly clarified so that the new President can take office under no shadow of doubt. This will be good for him and for the nation."

Mr Keye's lawsuit is not the first to be filed, challenging Senator Obama's eligibility to hold the office of the President. A Petition for Writ of Certiorari is currently pending in the United States Supreme Court and a hearing is apparently being held today in Hawaii, on a petition which seeks to have Barack Obama's original 1961 birth certificate made public.

FACT: The Constitution requires that one be eligible to hold the office of the President and one of those eligibility elements is that they must be a naturalized US Citizen.

FACT: Obamba won't produce the birth certificate and in fact, is doing so tooth and nail!

Can at least one of these people have the cajones to actually do it: one, only at least one..that’s all we need to intitiate a lawsuit to finally prove once and for all if Obama is leagally qualified to become President of the United States (he’d likely still remain leader..we don’t use the Constitution Anymore!), but if even one Congressman signs on then it would likely be answered by the Supreme Court, and be “more legitimate”.

Anywhoo I think it is actually MORE conservative to require our leaders to follow the constitution than to ignore it.

Of course even if he isn’t a natural born citizen I doubt he’d be removed from office, and I would still pray for him, but in the strictist sense he would not then be “president”-he’d be leader (or some other offical sounding title).

Thought about that too, but, He could change the forged COLB and claim that all the screen shots and cached images were “doctored” by those bitter conservatives in a pathetic attempt to raise questions about his “Mandate” from the American people. We’re just gonna move on??? This man’s whole backround is nothing but smoke and mirrors, no BC, no college transcripts, no work history while a lawyer. There are conflicting reports of where he was born and there is that little fact that he was adopted by an Indonesian and lived in Indonesia. Even if he was born in Hawaii, his mother renounced his citizenship, if he did not repatriate himself as an adult he is not a citizen. That little ole document, THE CONSTITUTION says our President MUST be a natural born citizen. Now we just brush that aside so we don’t seem petty? No thanks, producing a birth certificate is really no big deal and he could end it tomorrow.

I agree “what a mess”. Better to defend the Constitution now at all costs, however, than try to recover once the foundation upon which our republic stands is destroyed. Fear of the mess to come is not an acceptable excuse for apathy. This is Obama’s fault. The blame for all the bitterness to come lies squarely on his shoulders (and the shoulders of those who enabled him by looking the other way despite the deception). I’ll not feel bad or guilty for what’s to come. If only Obama were worth his mettle, he’d address this now and either put up or step down.

The hidden college records are directly related. He is almost certainly listed on his college records as a foreign student. There would be no detrimental reason to hide his grades but his status as a foreign student would be confirmation his Hawaiian birth certificate is bogus.

The college records should be subpoenaed.

It's great if Alan Keyes can help gain some traction on this. It seems past legal efforts have not been taken seriously by the courts or press (for what they're worth).

Thank you pissant for continuing to post this topic. It is absolutely vital that this issue is cleared up before Inauguration Day.

I am more sure with every passing day, that Zero is not a natural born US Citizen.

If he was, he would have produced the proper document long ago.

He is just whistling past the graveyard,,,hoping he gets into office before he is forced to admit he was born in Kenya.

He figures if he gets into office without being forced to provide the COLB, he is home free because no one will press the issue after Jan.20th.

I do not care what it sounds like to you or other unPatriotic Constitution tramplers. Protection of the U.S. Constitution is of utmost importance. All he has to do is have Hawaii release all his birth records. It is silly or dangerous that he has only fought to have the records sealed. Someday, under freedom of information, these records will see the light. I hope our nation isn't humiliated to it's core. I know William Ayers and his friends would like nothing better than to see the mighty United States humbled.

I am sure our brave soldiers who fought, bled and died would not think this is Sour Grapes.

Snopes says the birth certificate problems are not true??????

Snopes is so full of crap in their "analysis". Just a few examples from their site:

Those who have actually touched and examined the original certificate have verified and documented that it bears all the elements of a certificate of live birth

Nobody has ever touched or examined the original certificate.They point to factchecks "analysis" of the COLB and declare that is a certificate of live birth which it isn't.

State officials have NEVER said that. Here is what they said:

Here is what they said from Hawaii: Fukino said she has “personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.

She did not say original Hawaii birth certificate. Under Hawaii law, he could have applied for a Hawaii birth certificate provided he could show his mother was a resident of Hawaii one year prior to his birth. Part of that process is submitting your original birth certificate. So therefore, in accordance with state policies and procedures , they would have his original birth certificate on record. It does not mean it is a Hawaii birth certificate.

It just shows how slanted Snopes is on this. They either make slight changes in wording ( from certification of live birth to certificate of live birth ) or tell out right lies (State officials say there is no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii) to misinform.

I simply find it a bit hard to believe that a man with allegedly such an obvious disqualification to the presidency would actually, y’know, run for it, thinking that such a thing can be hidden. Some people here are just too quick to reach for the fanciful, mystery-novel clock and dagger kind of stuff.

The Obamalama is the president. Deal with it. Every day spent ambulance-chasing along side questionable people like Berg is another day spent in denial of what just happened here in 2008. I don’t like the idea of this vermin in the White House any more than you do, but clinging to this pipe dream of ousting him now is just plain absurd.

I don’t want to be bickering about ‘stolen elections’ 4, 6, 8 years after the fact, like the Dims STILL do about Gore2000, hence my earlier comparison.
