Primary care doctors in the United States feel overworked and nearly half plan to either cut back on how many patients they see or quit medicine entirely, according to a survey released on Tuesday.
And 60 percent of 12,000 general practice physicians found they would not recommend medicine as a career.

Just wait until the government steps in and pushes for docs to see more patients/hour.
Nobody likes a quitter.
If doctors all got together and modified the Hippocratic Oath to exclude Lawyers the health care system would be fixed
The problem is the medical system is really way out of control
I know what’ll help ... somebody can file a lawsuit.
No one works for the patient anymore.
There are a number of Doctors who have opted for cash for service only.
Doctors should unionize.
You need at least 8 additional years of higher education and another 4 years of internship to become a credentialed surgeon.
Under Socialized Medicine, they would earn no more than a welder or a car salesman.
Who needs that?
Well, since Obama intends to push the FOCA, more than 550 Catholic hospitals will close.
So there will be fewer doctors to work in those fewer hospitals.
This is what democrats call “balance”
What would happen then when a doctor commits malpractice?
The only way we got the absolute best doctors in the world was because we allowed them to earn a lot of money for their very difficult and specified jobs. They are overburdened already with insurance stuff and malpractice suits. You can only be kicked down so many times before you take your marbles and go home.
People who want “socialized health care” don’t understand it at all. They are asking for their trip to the clinic to be much like a trip to the DMV. With the same intelligence and people skills from the staff, too.
Promising free health care to illegals is also part of the problem. If you can’t show that you are legally in this country, you should have your bleeding staunched and get a bus ticket to Mexico.
Same thing that happens now except the lawyers do not get millions.
Texas did something similar.
They instituted tort reform in the form of award limits.
Insurance premiums dropped 30%,
the number of insurance companies went up by a similar amount,
as did the number of doctors, especially OBGYNs.

Didn't a bunch of doctors actually do that a while back? I seem to remember a news story about doctors refusing to treat trial lawyers.
This has been going on for decades! And it's going to get much worse should government impose "universal health care," as the experiences of countries like Canada and Great Britain prove.
