UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) – The newest United Nations messenger of peace, actress Charlize Theron, made her name in hard-hitting movies about abused women but she says audiences don't want to see that kind of film.

Theron was appointed Monday a messenger of peace with a special focus on ending violence against women. Her job will be to promote U.N. activities and ideals through public appearances and media contacts.

You can be the messenger of Puppage and snips and snails.

Maybe they’ll send Aeon to Iran let her straighten them out.

The meaninglessness of some peoples mentality is beyond belief. I don’t just mean hers, I mean the UN...

Still pimping the idea that a serial killer was a "victim".

Why is everybody complaining? I for one like the idea of pretty actresses being heads of UN agencies. How about Cameron Diaz for International Atomic Energy Agency?

Or... alternatively... Helen Thomas as head of the International Agency for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Inspection

Either that or taking her clothes off in "2 Days in the Valley." One or the other.

There are rumors he is going to offer John McCain a cabinet position. Probably Secretarty of the Treasury, since that is the one area McCain admints he knows nothing.

Stick to acting please

She didn't need to study hard to play Eileen Wernos. When Theron was 15 she witnessed her mother murder her father in their home with a shotgun. Pretty awful stuff.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

There was a moment during Aeon Flux where if felt like the director was speaking directly to the audience. The line was “Don't lose consciousness.”

The guy who works across the street from me is as white as a snowflake, but he was born in Zimbabwe. He always puts down he is an African American who’s family immigrated here for political asylum. Some of the stories he tells about the actual rage that he has seen when people actually meet him in person and see he is white are interesting, getting a scholarship to IU and then have it taken away is just one of them.

TO: GOP,RNC,David Frum,Charlie Crist:

This is what we get when you decide it’s more important to be “relevant” to young people than it is to be “responsible” to adults.

Sincerely hoping you get the point,

That OUGHT to be the perfect way to end that awful term, “African-American” when you are referring to a Black, Negro, whatever. Charlize Theron IS an African-American, as the term aptly describes her ancestry. Any African-born white should use the term and expect to get all the perks that Blacks who use it currently receive. If this guy had a scholarship jerked I would see a lawsuit, big-time!! This hyphenation crap must cease!!! SSZ

Messengers of peace are a dime a dozen at the U.N. You you want to be a useless U.N. tool, propagandizing against your own nation, there’s few better ways out there.

His parents had a lawyer there the next day and, surprise surprise, he was given the exact same benefits without actually being given the scholarship.

He uses it all the time, and blacks HATE him for it when it means he gets a benefit that could or should have gone to someone with dark skin.
