President-elect Barack Obama says he and Republican Sen. John McCain plan to work together to "fix up the country."
The two former rivals met in Obama's transition office Monday in Chicago. Rahm Emanuel, Obama's incoming White House chief of staff, participated in the meeting, as did McCain's close friend, South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham.

The Dem’s care nothing about the Republicans and the values we represent. Sorry, call it what you want, but I will play hardball from here on out. Between some of the proposed policies that will be introduced, the lies I have heard throughout the campaign, the officials being employed within this administration, not to mention the history of people surrounded within this administration tells me that they have no interest in reaching across the board. It’s going to be their way or the highway. Honestly, if someone wants me to go along with this because it’s the respectful thing to do, well, they can take that roll. But, I certainly will not. This election symbolizes a major change in our country and it is a change towards a liberal & socialist direction. I plan to complain to every gov’t agency & newspaper and have my voice heard, that not everyone agrees with these policies.
This was a photo op and nothing more.
McCain represents “McCain” and NO ONE ELSE - Period!
McCain is now Hussein’s b!+ch!
If you equate conservativism with social conservativism, we’d agree. Conservativism, however, goes well beyond social issues.
Libertarian Platform: Statement of Principle:
“...People should not be forced to sacrifice their lives and property for the benefit of others. They should be left free by government to deal with one another as free traders; and the resultant economic system, the only one compatible with the protection of individual rights, is the free market.”
How many of the current GOP ‘leaders’ would agree with that statement?
*chirp chirp*
Not only touching, but having the bottom of the shoe facing a person while legs are crossed is considered insulting - in many cultures in which he is very familiar with and has traveled to. It’s just interesting that he will pronounce Pakistan like Pahkeestan to sound so wordly, but his etiquette shows he doesn’t know much.
Here are the “REAL MAVERICKS” (unlike McCain) who actually ‘stood up’ for something against that BAILOUT VOTE.
McCain couldn’t even stand WITH THEM at the most important hour:
Sessions, Jeff R - Ala. No
Shelby, Richard C. R - Ala. No
Roberts, Pat R - Kan. No
Vitter, David R - La. No
Wicker, Roger F. R - Miss. No
Allard, Wayne R - Colo. No
Crapo, Mike R - Idaho No
Brownback, Sam R - Kan. No
Bunning, Jim R - Ken. No
Cochran, Thad R - Miss. No
Dole, Elizabeth R - N.C. No
Inhofe, James M. R - Okla. No
DeMint, Jim R - S.C. No
Barrasso, John R - Wyo. No
Enzi, Michael B. R - Wyo. No
He knows EXACTLY what he’s doing. Sending messages to his friends and our enemies.
“Yet with Obama, hes already out there with the raching across the aisle stuff. Which party is it he really belongs in again?”
He belongs in the RAPP. He’s the number one hip hop rapper for the Reach Across Pimp Party.
Whatever. As long as you can ‘resolve’ your issues with gay marriage, gay adoptions, legalized cocaine and legalized partial-birth abortions.
sticking it out with the GOP means that I need to ‘resolve’ my issues with balanced budgets, increasing federal government, eminent domain, bloated social mandates, and on and on.
It is a touch choice. What is increasingly clear to me, however, is that the cost to society for the current course of the federal government *might* be as disastrous or more as gay marriage, gay adoptions, legalized cocaine and legalized partial-birth abortions. Afterall, as things stand right now, every household in America has been sold down the river by the government for unfunded entitlements to the tune of almost a half a million dollars.
The music is going to stop playing at some point and whether or not we have gay marriage won’t amount to a hill of beans when trying to rid ourselves of this mountain of unsustainable government debt.
I figured that out when he was on the campaign trail, defending obama “you have nothing to fear of an obama presidency” and “he’s a decent man”.
It was at that moment I realized McCain wasn’t in it to win. He’s been in Washington too long, and he’s an imbecile.
Hoped the could work together to kill off anything left of the Republican party .
Helping the O team is a NO WINNER !!!!

Damn good question.
Looks like we have a one party system.
You’re right. Tell Planned Parenthood and Act-Up that.
