It's Green Week again at NBC, time for more global warming scare-mongering by the network. During half-time of last night's Sunday Night Football game, Meredith Vieira helped, uh, kick things off with a bit of alarmism that would put Al Gore to shame. The Today show co-host raised the spectre of the oceans rising . . . at least 200 feet! [H/t reader Mick L.]
Readers will recall that Al Gore's claim, propagated in An Inconvenient Truth, of a Manhattan-drowning 20-foot sea-level rise has been widely rejected as so much alarmist hooey. But compared to her apocalyptic vision, Vieira made Gore's Wall Street-under-water image look like a bathroom floor puddle .

Vieira puts algore to shame ping to Today Show list.
NBC is a joke.
At a minimum! I say the oceans will rise 2000 feet! We’ve got to act!
I think it will be 6 bazillion feet.
Sea levels could rise so much that the international space station will drag across it’s surface and sink. LOL
On the bright side, boats are cheaper than the shuttle.
I saw that last night. What a joke.
Sheesh!!And they don’t understand why they’re going out of business!!

Ridiculous I say! Didn’t you see Waterworld? The Rockies will be fishing reefs.
We could start by shutting down the coal plant that supplies electricity to NBC...
And whwere is all this water vapor that will condense in order to raise the ocean level 200 feet?
How can a country full of college credits believe fairy tales?
Oh, that’s right—they’re college educated.
I haven’t watched the TV news since Nov. 03....I guess I will never watch the “news” again....
Over the years, NBC (madeup)News has falsified MANY so called “news” reports.
Off hand I can recall one regarding fishkills, another regarding the side-saddle fuel tanks in pickup trucks.
It’s not only NBC, but they’ve got a long history of doing it.
My favorite ever though, was when CNN faked a report on how deadly “assault weapons” are. 2 rifles of the same caliber, one a semi-auto, the other a bolt action. Same ammunition. 2 melons. The semi-auto fired into the melon blows it up. The bolt action - well nothing happened. I mean it didn’t even move. The conclusion? That semi-autos are FAR more deadly than the bolt actions, even when they fire the same ammunition! Later on it was exposed that the “shooter” had completely missed the second melon. Didn’t hit it, which might explain why it was undamaged. They did a short retraction which I believe was aired one time, while they aired the original report numerous times.

This is great news.....
It will be a shorter drive for me to get to the beach from Atlanta!!!
...then I'm definitely going to need a back-up sump pump for my basement.
I would rather see a repeat of the “Heidi” game at halftime than watch Captain Planet-style indoctrination from (d)N(c)BC.
If NBC was so interested in green energy savings, why didn’t they insist that they shut off the lights on FedEx Field for the game. Imagine how much coal burning power would have been saved. Wasteful lights are so overrated for night games!
That looks like a shot of the Kansas City bowl. I hear the surf is really going to be graeat there.
