11.16.08 Senate Democrats intend to introduce legislation Monday attaching an auto bailout to a House-passed bill extending unemployment benefits; a vote was expected as early as Wednesday. A number of Republicans vowing to derail the $25-billion-dollar bailout bid. Majority Democrats will need at least a dozen GOP votes in the Senate to prevent opponents from blocking their measure — assuming all Senate Democrats support it. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky questioned whether there was sufficient Democratic support for an auto bailout in a statement released Sunday.

Senator Cornyn was instrumental, with others, in assisting Pete Olson to recently beat democrat Nick “SoroBoy” Lampson to regain Republican control over Tom DeLay’s previous HR TX-22 seat. See related FR threads

Republicans can now resist this crap

Havning suffered a sound thrashing by the American electorate, the GOP should feel rather free from playing suck up, reach-across-the-aisle games with the democrats and “moderates” right now

Good. First time I voted for Cornyn, I had to hold my nose. He proved himself these 6 years and I gladly voted for him this time.

Yes, the Senator did help Olson kick Nicky's azz out of the House. That conservative District 22 finally got someone to represent them, properly.

Cornyn voted “yes” to approve the first bailout vote and also voted for illegal alien amnesty. He’s a RINO of the first order.

announcement by Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid that he will seek Senate passage next week of a $25 billion bailout for the U.S.

This is the same partisan hack who said we lost the war. I have had a real hard time listening to Scary Reid after that.

Cornyn’s one of the good guys. I’m glad he won 6 more years to fight for conservatives as my Republican Senator.

...today’s announcement by Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid that he will seek Senate passage next week of a $25 billion bailout for the U.S. auto industry. Senator Reid’s support for this latest government bailout comes on the heels of yesterday’s announcement from the Treasury Department that the federal government has a record deficit of $237.2 billion for the first month of the fiscal year. This represents the highest monthly imbalance on record.

What's that, Harry? I can't hear you over the sound of peace and calm in Iraq. Loser.

From what I’ve gathered filing for bankruptcy would be better anyway for pensions. The retirees would get something for their trouble.

If it weren’t for the UAW, I think many would be willing to take SUBSTANTIAL cuts if the could still have medical.
