Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting "Assassinate Obama." Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars.
Incidents around the country referring to President-elect Barack Obama are dampening the postelection glow of racial progress and harmony, highlighting the stubborn racism that remains in America.
From California to Maine, police have documented a range of alleged crimes, from vandalism and vague threats to at least one physical attack. Insults and taunts have been delivered by adults, college students and second-graders.
There have been "hundreds" of incidents since the election, many more than usual, said Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate crimes.

here’s some more info on the SPLC...gives glimpse into the big bucks they’re winning in court...it’s all about trying “hate crimes” in front of a black jury folks.

The attacks on hetrosexual Christians in California were NOT considered hate crimes, nor was the firing of those supporters of the pro-marriage amendment considered dicrimination, try to fire a homosexual in CA.
Having a black man impose socialism (even if symbolic) putting whites on welfare will not result in racial harmony.
On 9/11 or immediately afterwards, one numbskull in Arizona (I think it was) shot and killed a man wearing a turban, thinking he was a Muslim (he wasn’t). I think that was the extent of “anti-Muslim violence” in the country.
true
I’ve read/seen/heard nothing about any incidents such as these.
Hundreds of reported incidents? Prove 5 or 10 to me.
How many articles have their been in the national media about white (or even non white) McCain supporters harassed and harangued, especially school children? Not many I don’t think.
Although I have no doubt that there are some idiot racists out there that would do things like this, I tend to agree with you. Without racial tensions a LOT of jobs and money would stop flowing to certain people. Racial tension = big $$$. From the "Racial Leaders" point of view, not manufacturer a little just to keep the status quo, eh? Nothing too bad, just a little bit here a little bit there ....
Call for Bush’es assassination and it’s free speech, say a bad comment about Obama and it’s racism. Typical leftist hypocrisy.
Just wait until he gets in office. Free speech will be a joke.
I've decided this Southern Poverty Law Center is a swindle, collecting buckets of money by frightening elderly red-diaper Jews with lurid tales of their battles against the neo-Nazi boogeymen.

Hey Jesse Washington, go eff yourself.
“Obamas victory meant the end of racism in America!”

We can now drive our BMWs thru “mixed” areas of town and they won’t be carjacked. We need not fear black utes robbing us, raping our women, our daughters. We will not see any further incidences of blacks burgling our homes, doing smash and grabs of crap from our cars and so forth. Black 10 year olds will no longer be peddling drugs in our skools.
Ah, yes, Camelot means blacks will call off their reign of terror.
Pretty much what I was thinking, that and the need to curb hate speech by regulating the Internet and talk radio.
With all of the “examples” the article described, you’d think they would have at least one picture in this age of digital imaging.
Let’s see....seems to me that there were LOTS of people bashing Bush, tearing bumper stickers off of cars, burning in effigy, etc etc in 2000 and 2004...but since its Obama, it’s a hate crime
All I can say is, I HATE THE MEDIA.
As I have stated before the real problems will start between blacks and Mexicans. Whos going to get the most goodies.
Wow...I can smell the B.S. from this article coming through my laptop.
I have seen on many boards inhabited by so called intellectuals, remarks such as ‘Where’s Sirhan Sirhan when you need him’ and ‘Where’s a good sniper when you need him?’in reference to Bush.
If anyone said that in reference to Obama, they’d be visited by Obama’s brownshirts in a heartbeat.
