So far there are no reports of injuries to residents or fire personnel, said Kelly.

The fires here in Southern California are a tragedy. Many hard working citizens are trying to rest in evacuation centers and high schools and wonder if their home are still standing. 110 home gone in Santa Barbara, 500 mobile homes lost in San Fernando area, and 40 luxury homes in Yorba Linda were burned. The fire is merciless and the fire fighters are strong and brave, probably like the Cowpokes in OK.
It was smokey in Burbank for a couple hours...but it seems to have cleared out.... not sure about the rest of the Valley....I thought Newhall Pass was contained....I guess not.
I have been watching a movie....watching all the news coverage make you crazy
They lit off backfires to protect the high tension electrical lines coming into Los Angeles, taking advantage of a lull in the weather. Not sure if Newhall’s going to get out of hand or not, it’s always a gamble, but the lines appear to be protected so they met their initial goal, hopefully no one loses their homes as a result.
Sleepyhallow in Carbon Canyon is now endagered, flames are licking up against a storage yard with a lot of mobile homes attached to it. Next to the storage yard is a large mobile home park which is now endagered, and apparently this wasn’t evacuated - the one way out appears to be blocked right now.
Where is Carbon Canyon, anyway?
A reporter in Brea described herself as being “just east of Valencia,” so now I’m really confused.
Maybe it was the reporter that was confused! Maybe she meant Valinda
East of Valencia is someone covering the Newhall Pass Fire (Sylmar) from the north east side.
The Big Bear Lake Scanner, has them fighting fires up there also I don’t have all the details, but did hear that one trailer was involved, with multiple trailers in danger.
There have been several brush fires also.
Oh Dear, the Fireman’s radio is on the fritz and his report is not coming in, it is broken and not understandable.
A night for many prayers.
Orange County fires One of numerous luxury homes in Yorba Linda is left to burn as a perfect storm of wind and dry air made for poor firefighting conditions
Orange County Animal Control officers search for the bodies of several dogs at a home on Heather Ridge Drive. The pets were in the garage when the fire hit.
“that would be in the sleepy hollow area on the way to Chino hills”
Carbon Canyon Road
It would be easy to get trapped in that area, one paved road in and out.
I just heard on the scanner that some dopes near the Sylmar Public Library are shooting at the helicopters while they are trying to fight the fires. I can’t believe it.<<<
I hope they arrested them.
Just heard a comm between a fire copter and news copter over Van Nuys
fire: “There is a double homocide with the bodies laying in the intersection of Hazeltine and Sherman Way”
news: “If the bodies arent on fire, the station probably won’t air it”
