“The Republicans who are doing this seem to think that if Obama is found unqualified to hold the Presidency that somehow McCain will win but that is not true.”
But remember, this is not political.
It’s the Constitution.
Of Obama is found to be unqualified as president, a new election will have to be held...after SCOTUS rules.
Republicans are not the only ones that have filed lawsuits. Berg is a Democrat and was a Hillary supporter during the primaires. I don’t think any of us know the party affiliation of any of all the people who have filed the suits.
I think there are a lot of people besides Republicans who feel that Obama should submit his birth records for public verification. I personally do not know what the truth is regarding his citizenship status or whether he is a natural born citizen. I think many of us at first thought this was just a bunch of hoopla over nothing, but as more information comes out regarding these cases, there appears to be a lot of loose ends that don’t make any sense.
I don’t know about Hawaii, but the last time I went to obtain copies of birth records for some of my family members for genealogical purposes, I was able to get either a short form or a long form copy of the birth records. If I recall the long form cost a bit more, but that was what I wanted for my research purposes, since it contains more information. It seems very strange to me that a certified copy of long form birth certificate would not be available, since that is what geneoligists obtain for their research purposes.
It also is strange that Obama would have his lawyers fighting so hard to keep the information contained therein hidden from the public. It makes no sense to spend thousands of dollars on attorney fees, when all the lawsuits would be dropped if he produced this information along with his citizenship records. No normal person would go to this much trouble and expense to keep the information hidden unless they had something to hide.
