Logistics isn't generally a career path to a 4th star. Maybe something else is in play? Hmmm.
I don't know the real story, I am guesing that is the reason for what you refer to as insulting replies.
Very true. But Logistics are certainly crucial to winning any war. She must be darn good.
Logistics is key to winning any engagement. The Army has done an excellent job of logistics management and innovation and continues to push the other Services to do the same. There is much to be said for coordinated Service Logistics, and I think the Army is strongly in favor of this. It is already being done in the medical field; I suspect since I recently retired it’s probably spreading to other fields as well. If she is responsible for consolidated/coordinated Service logistics, then she’ll need those 4 stars to go toe-to-toe with her male operational counterparts.
Congrats to the General—I’m glad you’re breaking the glass ceiling! Esp. in the logistics field (as a former boxkicker, I know!), which has always been a good ole boys club.
I'm sure that would come as a hell of a surprise to all the other 4 stars that ran the Material Command over the years.
I'm guessing maybe she's just so damn good at it. Her assignments show constant increasing responsibility in logistics. So what are they going to do, tell her to retire or promote her so she can take on even more responsibility? I prefer the latter.
