Prop 8 Protests Against Mormons, Other Churches Gets Ugly (Gay Activists At A Mass Call Jesus A Homo
The Bulletin ^ | 11/12/2008 | Joe Murray

Posted on 11/14/2008 7:25:12 AM PST by Laissez-faire capitalist

Although a week has passed since California voters overturned that state's Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage, the state has felt numerous aftershocks as gay rights activists have mounted large-scale protests directed at supporters of Prop 8, specifically the Mormon church.

... Demonstrations outside Mormon temples were reported over the weekend throughout California and more are anticipated nationwide. The Mormon church, however, is not the only Prop 8 supporter coming under criticism for its role in the controversial election, as Catholics and Evangelical churches have seen protests, as well.

An estimated 10,000 gay-rights protesters gathered in San Diego, Calif. outside Saddleback Church. The church is home to Pastor Rick Warren...

... Catholic churches were also protested Sunday, and one protest in Michigan turned ugly.

A group of about 30 gay rights activists from the group "Bash Back!" stormed into Mount Hope Church in Lansing. Mich. and unfurled a large rainbow flag at the pulpit. The group also tried to disrupt the Mass by banging on cans and shouting "Jesus was a homo."

I don’t have time to delete every post. I deleted the most egregious attempts at hijacking. The Mormon posters did not start the hijack. So leave this thread NOW, I don’t care to waste another minute of my life dealing with it.

So much for restricted speech until AFTER the election...

Mormon in the title does not mean the thread is about Mormon theology - in this case, the subject is politics and Prop 8 and attacks on those who supported it - and no one except a few hardcores cares to see this subject dragged off by the likes of you. You can still go to the Religion Forum and spew your dislike of Mormonism all you want, so you can take your complaints about restricted speech and stuff 'em.

Yes sir/ma’am. I dislike this assertion that the Bible is just a book full of inaccuracies, additions and incomplete material, it would seem that FR, who supports the Bible would be glad to have me address this issue. If you believe this isn’t open for discussion on FR, then I certainly will abide by your decision.

It is open for discussion on the Religion Forum. You know better, so stop whining when you are told to take it back there.

That “trinity” stuff always confuses me (my ex is catholic). How could Jesus have been one and the same as God, the Father and the Holy Spirit, when all throughout the New Testiment, he was praying “to” God. He couldn’t have been praying to himself. I don’t get it.

Yes, Mitt was a RINO but he’s a Born again Conservative now. At least thats what he says. I will give him the benefit of a doubt. What does old Mitt say about this Homo-Hate attack on his church? Where are the Danites now that we need them? Brigham Young never would have put up with this.

“... civil contract and a marriage contract?”

A marriage contract gives her the absolute right to gut you like a fish using nothing but your own paycheck.

So we are protecting gays, man if God really hated them maybe we should force them to get married.

Another day, another reason to fight the homosexual movement.

My guess is that they think they have enough backing that people are going to support them in the religion and Christian bashing, because of the ground they’ve gained politically and legally. They’ve been duped.

What they don’t seem to realize is the damage they are doing to their image all by their lonesome selves.
There’s likely nothing that the straight community could do to turn more people against them than they are doing themselves.
