A Winning Combination for the RNC? (Fred Thompson and Chuck Yob enter as a co-chairmen ticket?!)
Boston Herald ^ | November 13, 2008 | Holly Robichaud

The fight for the Chairmanship of the Republican National Committee (RNC) seems to have more players on the field than a football game. However, a few serious contenders are emerging from the field such as Katon Dawson and Michael Steele.

In a new twist today former Presidential candidate and United States Senator Fred Thompson is poised to enter the race with a partner, Michigan National Committeeman Chuck Yob, as his co-chairman. Thompson would be the public face/spokesman of the RNC while Yob run the Party’s operations.

This partnership of Thompson and Yob could be the winning combination. Already they seem to be gaining momentum. As of tonight Oklahoma Republican Chairman Gary Jones has endorsed the ticket. “We have an extremely large task ahead of us and Senator Thompson has the art of message. When he speaks people listen,” stated Jones. “Chuck Yob is a strong grassroots organizer. As a businessman Chuck will be able to manage the resources of the Party. It is an attractive combination.”

I have tremendous respect for Chuck Yob and Fred Thompson would make a great spokesman. Who could refuse allowing him to get on the airwaves.

I like the idea!

My only doubt is who endorsed them as a State Chair. He cannot even debate the Dem on the radio here. We win elections in spite of the State Party for the most part. Ask any candidate how much help they get and they will look at you like you are nuts. He is a nice guy but a weak chair.

Very interesting!

I haven’t heard FRed’s name floated for RNC chairman. He would be great!

In a related story, the horses have left the barn and lets define pointless.

The age of the retarded majority is upon is, the right has surrendered without a fight.

Be very afraid.

Now that there’s funny, I don’t care who ya are! Seriously, though, Fred as the “front of the house” and Yob as the “back of the house”, as they say on Food TV, is a brilliant idea.

Whoever gets rid of all the damn dead weight in the RNC is my pick, too many worthless staffers and regional reps that keep getting the gigs over and over and accomplish nothing except job security.

Heh, heh. Glad you got a kick out of that one.

I'm sure Yob is a great guy but I just couldn't resist.

So long as they are not wishy washy. Will speak up and point out wrongs committed and who committed them and will have a strong Conservative message that they scream from every area of media.

John McCain played it from the center. Was afraid to speak out for fear he would not get the votes of 'the uncommited, or swing voters'.

Well he blew it because it is the Conservative vote that he lost. They obviously sat home rather than vote for a RINO.

That person needs to clean House is right. The only reason this team makes me nervous is that our Chair endorsed them. We had some of the RNC staffers in for a special election who didn’t have a clue and they were giving the instructions.

Have you seen their worthless Voter Vault? It is so out of date, it is almost impossible to use.

Have no respect for the people that have been running the RNC or the people they hired. College kids get jobs telling people who have been around politics for years what to do. It is arrogance personified.

One thing for sure, people would recognize his name. Who the hell runs the RNC now...nobody even recognizes his name.

I just hope the RNC taps Newt’s brain. He’s the best idea guy we’ve got. Just probably not the best for the top job.
