Mischief in Minnesota? (Al Franken's Recount Isn't Funny)
Wall Street Journal via Republican Jewish Coalition ^ | 11/12/08 | WSJ Opinion Journal

You'd think Democrats would be content with last week's electoral rout. But judging from the odd doings in Minnesota, some in their party wouldn't mind adding to their jackpot by stealing a Senate seat for left-wing joker Al Franken.

AP Al Franken. When Minnesotans woke up last Wednesday, Republican Senator Norm Coleman led Mr. Franken by 725 votes. By that evening, he was ahead by only 477. As of yesterday, Mr. Coleman's margin stood at 206. This lopsided bleeding of Republican votes is passing strange considering that the official recount hasn't even begun. The vanishing Coleman vote came during a week in which election officials are obliged to double-check their initial results. Minnesota is required to do these audits, and it isn't unusual for officials to report that they transposed a number here or there. In a normal audit, these mistakes could be expected to cut both ways. Instead, nearly every "fix" has gone for Mr. Franken, in some cases under strange circumstances. For example, there was Friday night's announcement by Minneapolis's director of elections that she'd forgotten to count 32 absentee ballots in her car. The Coleman campaign scrambled to get a county judge to halt the counting of these absentees, since it was impossible to prove their integrity 72 hours after the polls closed. The judge refused on grounds that she lacked jurisdiction.

I will only say that MinnSTPaul has a grip on the state that votes welfare every time. That’s not a good thing. It breeds welfare. God Bless

Your Governor has said it doesn’t add up. Might as well get rid of him also.

No one in authority is holding them accountable. They get away with more and more each election. We had better figure out some way to deal with this.

Your understanding is incorrect. The continued count (since the recount has not yet started) is running about 55-45 in Franken’s favor.

This is likely due to the votes being in Hennepin County which went heavily Obama.

Well, I can’t help you with your overdeveloped suspicions. I am sure there is a whitey tape or Kenyan birth certificate to find.

I was trying to clear up some of misinformation I see posted with regards to the MN count.

That one made me sick at the time, but I forgave that theft after Thune gave Tiny Tom Daschle his walking papers in the next election cycle.

the latest here is that Freaky Al’s guys were claiming some old lady’s ballot was tossed because she had a stroke so the signature didn’t match. of course the election judge in the county Al claims this happened said it wasn’t true.

Al is lying now using the ‘poor and disabled are being disenfranchised’ card.
typical.

You’re right ... ultimately it was better to wait 2 years and have Thune take out Daschle rather than Johnson. But it sure was terrible going to bed around 2a thinking Thune had won, then waking up in a few hours to see the vote flipped.

I did the same thing staying up till I went qwerty
with the Coleman/Franken race this year .... alas, Stuart is still finding ballots !

The RATs will keep counting until they’re ahead. Just ask Mr. Rossi in Washington state.

I think it was the governor on Rush that said that F was amassing votes at a rate of 2.5 to 1 over Obama! In a race that is 50:50 that is amazing.

Mischief In Minnesota?

Why is their a question mark?

Liberals have been using this recount “strategy” for many years, well before 2000, and have stolen many elections.

The real problem? “Republican” response is...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
