My first shuttle pictures! Wow, it was an amazing site. Taken at Atlantic Dunes Beach (Delray Beach).

Yes, and since I’ve never seen one blast off before, it was pretty cool! There were quite a few people on the beach watching for it. At first we saw what I guess was an airplane, and we thought that was it, however when the real thing showed up, you couldn’t mistake it for anything else! Wow, I’m so glad we went out and saw it!!!!

No. Just wondering if you might have. It would have been about 5+ minutes after liftoff for you to hear it. It shakes my windows here.

I'm about 70 miles south of KSC in Melbourne Beach. The last couple Shuttle landings have flown over my house causing a sonic boom that really get your attention and scares th bejeebers out of my cat.

That’s great! I didn’t think they even showed them on TV anymore.
I sat on my front porch, with the family dog, hoping for a glimpse, but the cloud cover here was too much : /
Take care,
Tatt

The Shuttle has docked at the ISS. Supposedly they are carrying some furniture that will allow the ISS crew to double in number. Is NASA also providing rescue for the larger crew?

Heads up socalians....The shuttle has disengaged from ISS and is scheduled to land tomorrow in Florida.
If weather is bad as predicted (t-storms and cross winds), the location could be changed to Edwards AFB. Keep your eye on it!
Bakersfield Now.com says EAFB landing likely. A final decision isn't expected until late Sunday morning. Shuttle managers say there'll be two windows for landing at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base tomorrow. The first at 1:24 p.m., the second at 2:59 p.m.
