Barack Obama: Too Big to Fail
Rush ^ | November 12th | Rush

Posted on 11/13/2008 3:58:16 PM PST by Halfmanhalfamazing

So right now it's... I get kind of amused when I look at the way the media is covering this guy. I'll tell you something else about Obama. You heard the concept. Remember when Donald Trump was in financial trouble, he couldn't pay back all the loans at this point in time that he owed various banks? So the banks had to rewrite and redo the loans, because Trump was too big to fail. If they let Trump fail... That whole philosophy... It's come back now -- and, by the way, Trump paid it all back. He's cool, fine, but that whole philosophy is operative now. "Citibank? Too big to fail. Big Three automakers? Too big to fail. American Express credit cards? Too big to fail." I don't know about that, but I'll tell you: As far as all they have invested in Obama, he's too big to fail -- and I'm talking about the media.

They have invested so much in this guy. If you are expecting the media to ever turn on this guy in toto, it ain't going to happen. You might see a story here or there critical of something as these people just try to keep themselves appearing honest. But there is so much invested in this guy. He represents so much more than just the presidency now. He represents things that (to the Drive-Bys, to the Democrats) are beyond human. He's too big to fail. So do not expect the standard build-'em-up-and-then-tear-'em-down from the Drive-By Media on this guy. It will not happen. He's going to have to screw up so bad -- he's going to have to mistreat a reporter so bad; something is going to have to go so bad that we can't even visualize what it is -- to force the press to do a 180. He's too big to fail. Remember the Drive-Bys think they got him elected. The Drive-Bys sheltered the truth about this guy.

The Drive-Bys helped create and present this image, this charismatic demagoguery. They helped write the script. They made it happen, and they are proud. They are happy. This was historic. In their minds they have made history. It's Camelot again, folks. It's Camelot! Camelot cannot fail. Camelot cannot end up being a bad thing in the history books. Barack Obama cannot and will not be allowed to go into the history books as the guy who destroyed the notion of Camelot, 'cause the Camelot thing is tied to the Kennedys. It ain't going to happen. He's too big to fail. So do not get your hopes invested in the press turning on him. It isn't going to happen. He's too big to fail. Now, I'm talking about image-wise. He can bomb out as a president, it's just they won't report it. He can bomb out. He could... (sighs) I don't even want to speculate on things, but there are ways. I have nothing in mind; I was just going to make something up. He could make a series of blunders like no president's ever made; they will cover. They'll find a way to cover for him. He's too big to fail.

“You better believe it. No matter what happens, the MSM will somehow either spin the story, downplay it or not mention it at all. He is their creation and they will move mountains to protect him.”

Moronic assuption that the press has this unstoppable power. They tried to kill Bush - the two term President Bush - or do you refer to him as pResident - and couldn’t. What makes lemmings like you fall for the liberal, threatening BS that you’re spreading around here?

Obama is the emptiest suit in the history of politics - and I include Joe Biden in that estimate - and he will not survive beyond one full term, even if the dinosaur media tries to “move mountains to protect him.” They won’t move a good bowel in the coming four years...any one with a lick of common sense is on to them. This isn’t the nineties...and we adult conservatives are not afraid.

Is Obama too big to fail?

Yes!! This has happened before in a slightly different context. It was JFK. His Presidency was certainly not as disasterous as was Carter's but the press was totally invested in Kennedy. Even the "Bay of Pigs" was played down.

Obama is getting a JFK style love fest which will intensify once he is actually in the White house. "Little" things like totally excluding any hostile press, will make this even more successful. That is saying a lot, remember the JFK fiasco got us LBJ who even the press eventually couldn't stomach. Mark my words , Michelle will be the new "Jackie".

I think Rush is right.

I have a lot of respect for Rush; he's a very smart guy.

This is an interesting idea, an interesting take on the situation, but I'm skeptical. The media is very good at spinning fantasy to look like reality while keeping the public's attention off the lion sneaking up behind them. As Rush says, their actually proud of their ability to do this.

Their problem is that it is fantasy, and no matter how many intellectuals and Hollywood-types they parade around in front of the camera to say that the Emperor's clothes are magnificent, reality is still reality, and the real world isn't going to play along with the left's plan to have a party while history goes on vacation, as it did during Clinton's two terms.

Obama is going to come face to face with some very unpleasant truths quite soon. One of these is that the President really has very little power, especially beyond our shores.

I well remember a story that came out in the first six months of Bill Clinton's first term. He had been thwarted in his plans to do something, I don't remember what, but it was something financial, and his plans had caused a very bad reaction on Wall Street. A few months later a story leaked out that had Clinton yelling at his staffers something to the effect of "do you mean to tell me that I can't do [whatever] because of a bunch of bond traders on Wall Street?!"

Another thing Obama's going to find out is how much of the President's time is taken up on international problems, and how little control he has over them, at least in the short term. Much of the control he does have derives from America's strengths, both military and financial, as an international player, and Obama and the other members of his party have let everyone know that they are going to be working overtime to cut, undermine, and dissipate those powers just as fast as they can. This is going to result in Obama being busier than the proverbial one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest, and there won't be any way to leave the dance floor after January 20th.

What will happen very quickly is this: the MSM will have to choose between their Golden Boy and their own future. If they don't want to look like complete jokes, they're going to have to tell the truth. They've gotten fat dumb and happy with Bush in the White House. They've had the luxury of armchair quarterbacking for the last seven years, knowing they would suffer few consequences for their foolishness (although their power is diminished). If they don't want to become laughing stocks, they are going to have to tell the truth about the situation.

They are the ones who are "too big to fail." At least in their own minds. But that's reality to the perfumed princes.

I agree as long as we have the free flow and exchange of information that is the Internet.

This little ditty sets Rush up quite well as the all-important voice of opposition to the “Drive-by Media” as he calls it.

I’m not saying it’s not true, but it does translate into job security.

Is Obama too big to fail?

Perhaps!

What about is the MSM too big to fail?

I'm doing my part to contribute to their collapse.

Is Obama too big to fail?

Yes....it's been proven that Obama was groomed by the powers that be, and the MSM to become the next president. And the citizens of our great country ultimately made that decision. I still shake my head, and wonder why.

He will continue to be untouchable by his former acts, be considered a great leader (don't forget he's all about CHANGE, still not sure what that change is), and as some refer to him, as a messiah.

The biggest issue for me during this election, and most of my family, was national security. President Bush is just now getting a bit of crumbs for keeping our country safe for the last 7 years.

Let's hope and pray that under an Obama administration, with our military funding cut to extremes, it stays that way.

That's a good point. Rush's theory here is pretty self-serving here, isn't it. We'll, he's a good showman and a good businessman, anyone who's followed him over the years knows that. I don't hold it agains him either. He's honest about it, unlike 99% of the rest of the media blowhards.

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Obama can do a lot of things, but he can't out smart God.

Do they even mention that in History classes?

[but someone that is put on this high of a pedestal is bound to fall down]

Obama isn’t going to be able to fulfill any campaign promises because they were all whoppers. Iraq: as soon as we start to leave thousands of Iraquis will die. Increasing capital gains will kill New York. Taxes cuts to 95% utterly impossible. Increased healthcare: there is no money.

You may be right about his fall.

The problem is that the MSM are not observers and reporters. They are him and he is them. They have the same world view and the same moral compass-none. This is not your father’s or grandfathers media. This is a generation and a half of ‘journalists’ that were raised and indoctrinated in the public schools and colleges for the last 30 years and became part of the profession to ‘change things’ and ‘make a difference’-i.e. make things more liberal and ‘progressive’.

Obama is too big to fail in the eyes of the media. They will do everything within their power to prop him up, but that might not be enough to keep him from failing. I expect that he will be a failure because he will either try to ram his agenda down everyone’s throats and screw up the economy while angering large segments of the population, or he will be unable to cope with the realities of the world and turn into a titanic Jimmy Carter. I just cannot see him being able to do anything positive with the financial situation, and foreign affairs will overwhelm him in short order.

I’ve started listening to the Rush Limbaugh show again...I was a fan for a long time, but four or five years ago he became such an open shill for the Bush administration that I switched him off.

In the 80s and 90s Rush heaped scorn on the President and Congress, but then the Repugs gained total control and Rush stopped heaping the scorn. He should have been lambasting Dubya for huge increase in the national debt, etc. He should have remembered famous humorist Mark Twain’s aphorism: “In America, there is no distinctly native criminal class except Congress.”

Rush got invited to spend a night at the White House. It was a case of “sleeping with the enemy.”

I loved it when he lashed out at the retards in power, hated it when he became one of the apologizers for the idiots. If he’s reloaded and starts shooting again, I’ll resume listening.
