FYI
Untrue. I don't much care for Palin, but the more I learn about Jindal the more I like him.
Oh yea. Jindal went to Harvard right ? Palin got a worthless degree from Idaho.
You have “Adlai Stevenson syndrome”
You know, I'm starting to wonder about you. You're batting about zero percent when it comes to education. First you claim that Truman didn't graduate high school, which was false. Then you ignorantly questioned Reagan's education when in fact he had a degree in economics which proved to be his strong suit. Now, finally you're placing Jindal at Harvard where he never attended.
For the record: Jindal has a four year degree in Public Policy and Biology from Brown. Oh...can't forget he has a masters in Political Science from Oxford. Now surely you don't think this is a bad thing for Jindal?
Ok, I knew it was an IVY league school. and I respect that.
I just believe we are setting the bar too high when it comes to people who serve in Government. Not just when is comes to having an “elite” education, but a darn near perfect personal life. There is no room for normal people. This is why so many good people do not get involved in politics. Their whole life has to be an open book. That me’nage a trios they had at the Holiday Inn 20 years ago..Or say they got arrested for doing something stupid when they were 18. Ok, so you have to be perfect. and it seems you have to have a degree from an Ivy League school.
Now don’t get me wrong, a lot of what you posted makes sense to me. But:
A) A lot of us post only “once in a while” because we are busy with work, family, etc. Often, a proper reply requires significant thought and / or research. In fact, that’s one advantage libs tend to have over conservatives: They tend to have more free time on their hands!
B) We need all the newbies we can get and keep, as long as their general approach is that of conservatism. As long as someone is not just plain offensive or totally on Koolaid, which is better: Running them off, or winning them over / getting them more involved & committed?
C) Right now, I’d agree that Gov. Palin would be my #1 choice, but, she’s also a work in progress (see: Reagan, 1976.) Now, in SOME ways, Ronald Reagan was way ahead of her at this stage. But, Gov. Palin has greater “visibility” at this point (ie., compared to Reagan right after the ‘76 election.) How she uses that is going to be VERY interesting.
I prize practical experience balanced with formal education. In our family we have a pledge to Yale who barely graduated - but the Yale degree certainly gave them street "cred" needed to get ahead. Opportunity given to them that was not really deserved. Then again I know those who went to State Colleges and alternative educational institutions who are actually much more knowledgeable and talented.
Sorry, I don't buy the ivy league superiority argument.
At least you’re not paranoid. Used to be we were the people who weren’t afraid of ideas. Now a dissenting view in the echo chamber and I’m a democrat troll? By espousing my support for Bobby Jindal I’m a Democrat plant? How does building up a guy who I feel is the strongest pol on our bench benefit the Dems? Reminds me of the way that anyone who dared question W was treated around here a few years ago.
For goodness sake, Gov. Palin is a politician. Anybody who is looking for a single conservative pubbie to be 100% on their litmus test issues is naieve.
To do anything useful a conservative presidential candidate must become president.
Actually, no. I only know a handful of people with Ivy League educations, and honestly there isn't an idiot among them. I'll grant you that my sample is skewed because I don't know any Ivy League grads who aren't physicians.
; ~ )
I don’t love Sarah Palin for the top of a ticket in 2012, either. I did hear Jindal on TV the other night, and I really liked him.
Wow.. Are you proud of your stupidity and cluelessness? Just wondering.
Sheeesh, liberals simply cannot asssimilate information into a logical, cogent, intelligent thought.
People like you again prove liberalism is a mental disorder.
