Richardson Gets Backing For Secretary of State Post

WASHINGTON -- The battle for America's top diplomatic post spilled into view Tuesday, as some Hispanic leaders made a public push to have President-elect Barack Obama name Bill Richardson, the governor of New Mexico, as his secretary of state. [Bill Richardson]

Sen. John Kerry, an early backer of Mr. Obama who failed in his own bid for the presidency four years ago, sought to deflect reports that he is lobbying for the job.

"I haven't talked to anybody. I've had no conversations. It's all speculation, and I have nothing further to say," Sen. Kerry told the Associated Press Tuesday in Boston. A spokeswoman for the senator confirmed the statement.

The developments follow days of intense speculation in the nation's capital about who will assume the helm of U.S. diplomacy at a signal moment. The next secretary of state will inherit two wars, a global financial crisis, increased anti-American sentiment abroad and what U.S. intelligence officials say is likely to be dwindling American influence in the years ahead.

It would be better than Kerry. Plus the gays don’t like Richardson for saying it was a choice.

LOL!

Old Bill must be getting a reward for preparing the country for the truth about the Obama tax cuts.

Over $125,000 you get hit hard - not $250,000.

The one and only Bill “throw-your-weapons-in-the-sand-and-leave-Iraq” Richardson?

Oh, great.

Richardson did such a bang-up job at Education and Energy (Los Alamos hard drives?), why not State, too?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have it on good authority (a New Mexico Dhim source that is friendly) that Bill Richardson has MULTIPLE girlfriends in Sante Fe.

The girlfriends are what scuttled Richardson’s shot at VP. (Richardson was Obama’s first choice, with Biden a last-minute replacement.)

This is well-known in New Mexico.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Get this to those who need to know; it’s easily proved. He probably spent STATE MONEY SUPPORTING HIS GIRLFRIENDS.

Richardson has many enemies in New Mexico.

Make this Obama’s first of many mistakes; drag-out confirmation hearings.

There is a plus side to the Obama victory, although pale by comparison. He’ll appoint people to jobs, leaving open seats which will be filled by appointments. Fortunately, those appointments will be made by the states themselves. The plus side comes from the fact that the appointees will have to run to defend their seats, and the lack of long-term incumbency will make them vulneable in future elections. At least, I hope so.
