Gun lovers across America are concerned that Barack Obama's administration will take on the National Rifle Association and impose stiffer gun laws. Let's hope so.
Shop owners are reporting an upsurge in sale since Obama's election last Tuesday. Why?
Because many people fear that Obama and a Democratic-controlled Congress will try to stop them from buying assault rifles -- as if there's any reason in the world for a citizen to own such a thing.
And some Americans are worried that Congress will take away their rights to own three, four or more guns -- as if any American family truly needs that much firepower in their home.

Perhaps Yael T. Abouhalkah is worried the government will try to stop people from washing thier feet in a water fountain at the airport and praying 5 times a day. As if anyone really needs to pray 5 times a day.
where is the fairness doctrin in NEWSPAPER REPORTING? (not editorial pages, but the information pages?)
LOL... we are on the same wavelength. See my post #19.
Buy all the guns and ammo that you possibly can afford and do it consistently.. We will need them in the near future!
The stats show more people are killed with hands and feet than guns- is bondage an option?
If people like Mr. Abouhalkah ever gain power, we'll all need to pray more frequently.
Oh, they have.
Read the responses below the rant.
I'd be willing to make a deal with Yael T. Abouhalkah. I would gladly limit the number of guns that I own to the number of stupid op/ed pieces that he has written in his inconsequential career.
OR, ...as if any American family really needs that many BOOKS in their home.
Of course people need more than four guns! There's deer season, moose season, bear season, duck season......and of course my favorite, scum bag breaking into my house and threatening my family season.
The real irony is that people like this writer oppose stiff penalties for crime, believe in rehabilitation instead of incarceration, and oppose the police.
How the British disarmed the Scots to keep them subjugated comes to mind.
I’m just sayin’ ...
Yes. Just many journalist do we need?-- as if any American news outlet truly needs that much firepower in their newsroom....
Lax gun laws? Encouraged? What a fool. If Hemingway's ghost still stalks the halls at the KC Star, I hope he scares this clown to death.
The left uses the web the way the Chinese do, for PROPAGANDA.
Read this reply below the opinion piece. The guy owns guns and is afraid of the NRA????? Who on earth would believe this?

Yael, I am a gun owner and, as a young man, an expert shot and rifle team captain at my K.C. high school. I own two rifles, a shotgun, and a pistol. I am not afraid of Barack Obama, but I am afraid of the NRA, an organization that seems more like a Republican front group than the organization that I remember from my teen aged years.
What the NRA has done is to start the process of spreading the wealth
he is right in one respect. We need to target any ADVERTISERS that appear in the same section as his op ed.
This jerk needs to be advertising sales poison.
Do any ads appear next to his op ed?
How about those car dealers that depend on newspapers?
“Who the hell is Yael T. Abouhalkah,”
He’s probably the local rag head that wants to kill you because you don’t get on your knees and beller like a sick cow 5 times a day.
With her finger on the trigger, she has a captive audience.
Their draconian laws have armed the gangs and criminals to the teeth though.
In honor of this post I bought 4 guns yesterday :-).
I must really be nuts, what would he think of a family that has 37 firearms? WTF difference does it make if I want 100 or 300 guns to him? You have to honestly wonder how his viewpoint would change if he was one day put in the position of needing to defend himself. Actually he probably would just lay down and let the bad guys kill him and his family, but that is where he and I differ.
