Ed Morrissey: Calm Down and Play Nice, ODS sufferers
Protein wisdom ^ | 11/11/08 | Jeff G

Really, people. Don’t act like those odious Democrats did. Describing Obama’s attempts to move the country far to the left should be undertaken in the measured and refined tones of a Bill Buckley fart. Because Republicans, why, they have more class.

– Oh. And a few million less presidential votes, fewer House and Senate seats, and, soon, a diminished role in the judiciary.

But still: they have more class!

So, like, GO TEAM!

**** update: for the strangely gleeful.

update 2: Rather than develop an entire new post dedicated to answering Patterico, I’ll just point you here, here, and here.

update 3: Despite my having answered him several times — and providing links to those answers — Patterico continues to insist I haven’t answered him. So I answered him again.

Yeah, I’m not sure either. Unfortunately, McCain ran his campaign as if Capt. Ed was his main adviser.

The punk will get as much respect from me as the worse Democrat in congress gave to Bush. I don't wish this Marxist success, because success to him will be the death of our great Constitution. May his administration be marred in abject failure, but may our great country survive!

LOL!... Thats gonna be one hell of a fart!
"The Fart that was heard Round the World!"
If he doesn't stop breaking wind, we are all gonna die!

Yeah.... Farts DO have class.

On a more serious note, George W. has more "class" than any all the democrats combined!... look what that bought him.

Look, I’ve prayed hard not to have a miserable outlook...not to have an ODS, as it were. I even used those terms when talking with the Almighty about the situation.

I think we should and must oppose Hussein on the issues, but I will not be one who wakes up everyday in the dumps because that jerk is in office. He won’t have that power over me...I know of people who CONSTANTLY were obsessed with hating Bush. And they were sad sacks.

I won’t be one of them in reverse.

Exactly. I will hope that he does not screw up Iraq and Afghanistan, but that is far from likely.

I see this headed toward a pitch forks and torches moment. If he and the rest of the looney left don’t try to govern from the middle, this is going to get messy.

“measured and refined tones” is what helps us lose elections every time, while the Dems go for our jugular.

Fight or die.

as Ann Coulter said . . .
We need to Show the Democratic President the same Respect and Loyalty that they have recently shown Our Republican President.
Fair is Fair.

I will ‘not play nice’. And I’m NO ‘Ditsy Chick’. I’m an American with a family to raise....who loves this country.

Hey Dakota, I’m going to see if Hunter is willing to do all the necessary things to put himself in a great position for 2012. Can you imagine a debate between Hunter and Osama? There would be no “Obama wins debate” headlines, that much is certain.

By their fruits shall we know them. It appears from recent comments that Obama intends to do as much through executive order as fast as he can. I don't think it's going to be very long before Morrissey changes his tune. Unfortunately.

I could, of course, be wrong, and Obama and his newly-minted ruling class might refrain from the anticipated abuses: an Assault Weapons Ban, a massive civilian police force, radical changes in tax policy, even conscription. If so then no one would be happier than I to cut the Obots some slack. But frankly I don't think there's an Easter Bunny lurking out there in all that nasty-looking foliage. This could be a rough ride.

Eight years of heckling from the the left, and now that their boy is elected they want us to play nice? Isn’t going to happen. Obama is going to be blamed for everything that goes wrong in this country for the next four years. They should be careful what they ask for, because now it’s all on them.

Well said. My sentiments exactly. The Democrats have been unrelenting in their negativity for the last 8 years. It has brought them, at the expense of America, to the precipice of total power in Washington.

Unity?? You gotta be kiddin' me.

Is my new motto on Obama.

Obama is not intelligent enough to be a Marxist.

I never thought of Marxists as being intelligent. Rather, if they've achieved any kind of leadership role, I think they'd be more likely considered successful at manipulation and control.

Toddlers have been known to excell at that technique without a whole lot of intelligence...

I miss, Tom, too! One thing our side has to do is to remain above reproach. It is indispensable. That way, when false accusations are made, we can let them roll off like water on Teflon.
