Obama campaign promises collapsing faster than can be counted
Fox News Live | 11/11/08

Posted on 11/11/2008 3:25:34 PM PST by pabianice

It's been one week since The One swept into office on his battle cry of "Change!" and Fox News has started to count-up the campaign promises he has already broken.

Lobbyists. Obama promised that "There will be no lobbyists anywhere near my administration!" Per Fox, his campaign has already labeled that promise "no longer operative" and is recruiting lobbyists as fast as it can to "facilitate the transition." But "only for the first year." Uh-huh. Sure.

Green automobiles. Obama promised to make all cars sold in the U.S. meet California's psychotic Leftist emission standards. Oops. Today his transition team revealed that, well, that might not be an obtainable goal, so that promise is out the window, too, but "Obama will continue to work on it."

Energy independence. Obama promised to destroy both the coal and nuclear power industries "for the good of the planet." Now, just a week into his transition, The One is warning that this may not be doable, either, on the road to "energy independence by 2018" through using new technologies ad naquada generators and dillithium crystal chambers. Oopsie. Better hold on to that Hummer.

The Evil Bush War on Terrorism Orders. Obama promised to end all of Bush's "abuses of executive power such as the Patriot Act, attacking terrorists in other countries, and invading citizens' privacy through wire taps." Today, however, The Messiah announced that he'd, in fact, "keep those executive orders that would give him the most flexibility in ruling." (Note: "ruling? Does he think he's King?)

Ending private ownership of firearms. Well, maybe he was too carried away by the campaign. Never mind.

Vulcan wisdom ping!

Damn skippy! To heck with kindergarten, all I ever needed to know, I learned from Star Trek.

Go Blue, Wolverine, Go Blue!

Hell, if he breaks every campaign promise, he might not be such a bad president after all!

“Good to see Obama making his own base mad now”

You’re dreaming. Democrats don’t get mad at their own, nor do they throw anyone under-the-bus. It would weaken their power.

Good for him. I’m glad he’s a liar and fraud; maybe he’ll recognize the virtue in governing with pragmatism rather than attempting to force leftist crap down America’s throat. It’s not that he doesn’t WANT to, he just realizes that he’d rather be comfortable in office.

"Lobbyists. Obama promised that "There will be no lobbyists anywhere near my administration!"

He named Joe Biden VP! Joe has his own personal "Lobbyist Dynasty." He set up both his sons and his brother as lobbyists.

Not that our sleeping press would ever tell you that.

One man gridlock.

Small wonder this Zero has no accomplishments on his resume.

If he can sustain four more years of not accomplishing a dam* thing, he may even get my vote in 2012. LOL.

www.change.gov

"Change" on this website is a daily/hourly event. The copyright at the bottom of each page now lost the "501(c)4" reference. His "plans" are edited daily/hourly. So, the change website changes all the time. Not sure how a "dot-gov" site can carry a copyright anyway...

It’s gonna be utterly delicious when President Hussein’s young constituents realize they’ll be joining the American Youth Corps, like it or not, and donating their labor to the nation without any significant pay. Oh, the screams; oh, the humanity!

So Obama is a politician who made campaign promises he couldn’t keep after getting elected. Why is this a surprise?

If true, this would be the 2nd time I’ve heard the word “ruling” coming from this person...this guy still thinks he’s in Kenya.

Have you ever seen an elected official prance around with an “Office of the President-Elect” podium before?

Try that and I think four of our Supreme Court Justices will take up arms and join the revolution.

There's tolerance, and there's enough.

I need a dillithium crystal to power my house...anybody know where I can get one? /snark

I confess, I'm a DS9 fan!

Much to the chagrin of the Moonbats at Democrat Underground. They have decried Obama as "business as usual" before he has even taken the oath of office.

Let them start the recall election!

It's a surprise to the moonbats, college students and all true believers, because they believed him!

Now it's their turn to get conned, mugged and raped, politically speaking, that is.

Let the recall election begin.

It bothered me enough when lazy, complacent Republicans, before 2006, would appear on the talking head shows, and so casually describe themselves as "in power". Now, we see what that attitude has gotten them.

"Rule" takes it to a much more disgusting level.

I feel like I owe Roddenberry tens of thousands of educational dollars for all the free wisdom I received from those Trek episodes. I also feel like I am owed a refund for most of my university time for the same reason.
