They had a long run. Rush and Malkin and Lucianne and Drudge and Free Republic and those Littlle Green Footballs.
But it's over. The Obama Presidency will produce untold millions for these guys because frustration and hate is something you can take to the bank -- but with no branch of government under their control, they have been rendered powerless. Who will pay attention when some irrelevant rightist hack like Eric Cantor (R-VA) or Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) rushes to the House floor to cite a Michael Savage diatribe? Nobody.
A great part of the Right's strength was the belief -- shared by many on the left -- that they represented the majority. We were an embattled minority, fighting them, history and demographic trends.
"We are, after all, a center/right country," they said and we echoed.
But now it is clear we are not. We're a centrist country and they are perceived by a clear, strong majority of Americans as the fringe. (Just look at those election returns from 2008 and 2006). They are like the far left. In that famous old dustbin.
I read their websites. They are counting on (hoping and praying) that Barack Obama will be a bad manager like Carter or undisciplined like Clinton. Not very likely. Besides, without control of Congress, what can they do anyway?
They can talk and raise money. We have the White House, Congress and are better at raising money.
So they are back to where they where after Goldwater lost. The wilderness...

Mr. Robinson? I have a little, private site over at Yuku.
I’d be glad to open up the doors for anyone from FR if need be. ;)
Obama will be over his head.
Congressional Dems will over play their hand.
They will all go over the cliff together.
I guess he forgot how that turned out. Forty years of liberals being unelectable unless they thoroughly disguised themselves.
Let them begin with NOprah’s show and NOlbermann’s show. The Democrats are causing the divide in this country. They’re so full of it.
**You are right, Jim. I just dont see this happening because we are NOT going to let them do it. **
Begin FANTASY NOW: What if we could get 1/2 of Right Talk listeners show up on Capitol with TOY ak47’s... there’s not enough DEPENDS to clean Congress. (it’s a nice thought)
Hmm. Sounds to me like Rosenberg is the one stuck in the 60s.
Their side needs talking points. They can’t think for themselves.
Thoughtful posts on FreeRepublic become talking points for our side.
They’re so screwed.
Interesting. I did not know that. Thanks for posting.
We need to make contingency plans. These guys are going to coma after all of us. The doctrinaire marxists are not like the effete limousine liberals of old. They will use government to harass, intimidate, audit and silence us if they can. We have been at war from day one, but we keep bringing knives to their gunfights.
Well, the Dems are now 4-7 since 1986. Not a good record, by any measure.
The left and the media always report how they’d like things to be.
As far as I am concerned it will never be over as long as I am living. As long as the Good Lord gives me breath I will fight the sob.
I told someone today he is not my President.
The Angry Left has proved that they are Sore Winners too.

Nominating conservatives in primaries and showing up in primaries is our only hope.
We need to start zealously converting any democrats we know before it’s too late. No time to rest.
That is what they said when Clinton won twice in a row but then Bush won even though they tried to steal the election then too. Remember with Clinton, his character did not matter. (EXCEPT TO US) Just the economy. With Obama it is about the tax cuts for 95 pecent of the people. HOGWASH, BUT IT WORKED!
When the only choice is between Socialism and Socialism Light (1/3 less "taxing" than the original brand), the electorate will vote for the undiluted variety every time.
Ideas matter. Principles are not negotiable. When Republicans decide to stand for something again worth standing for, they will regain the support of those who work for a living. Until then, they are doomed to wander, aimless and clueless in the darkness.
The MSM as we know it won't be around for the next election.
