They had a long run. Rush and Malkin and Lucianne and Drudge and Free Republic and those Littlle Green Footballs.
But it's over. The Obama Presidency will produce untold millions for these guys because frustration and hate is something you can take to the bank -- but with no branch of government under their control, they have been rendered powerless. Who will pay attention when some irrelevant rightist hack like Eric Cantor (R-VA) or Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) rushes to the House floor to cite a Michael Savage diatribe? Nobody.
A great part of the Right's strength was the belief -- shared by many on the left -- that they represented the majority. We were an embattled minority, fighting them, history and demographic trends.
"We are, after all, a center/right country," they said and we echoed.
But now it is clear we are not. We're a centrist country and they are perceived by a clear, strong majority of Americans as the fringe. (Just look at those election returns from 2008 and 2006). They are like the far left. In that famous old dustbin.
I read their websites. They are counting on (hoping and praying) that Barack Obama will be a bad manager like Carter or undisciplined like Clinton. Not very likely. Besides, without control of Congress, what can they do anyway?
They can talk and raise money. We have the White House, Congress and are better at raising money.
So they are back to where they where after Goldwater lost. The wilderness...

So Obama isn’t going to be a failure but even if he is, the dem congress will bail him out?
Barf alert!
You are right, Jim. I just don’t see this happening because we are NOT going to let them do it. End of story.
Meanwhile:
Just weeks after claiming she would reshape her faltering radio program to focus on a New York City audience, Whoopi Goldberg has now been cancelled even there.
According to press and trade reports today, Wake Up With Whoopi was yanked from WKTU-FM today without warning, other than a brief note sent to staffers mere hours before the change. Poor ratings were cited by the station. MM
LOL
Does this mean they’ll stop pushing for the oxymoronically named Fairness Doctrine?
The media will help.
As for Rush and the other talk radio guys, so long as the Messiah allows us to have internet and sirius radio we can pay and get the radio shows. And I would do it. I will not live without Drudge, FreeREpublic, Rush, etc.
You can lead a donk to the radio, but ya can’t make him listen.
“they are back to where they where after Goldwater lost”
and gee just look what happened after Goldwater
the democrats got LBJ For 4 years. Wasn’t THAT special
I hope we are back to where we were when Goldwater lost to LBJ in a landslide
That means another Reagan is on the horizon
Geez, what a bunch of drama queens. They act like there were no Republican presidents after Kennedy.
That is what Freeper “eleven” told me. Carter gave us Reagan. Obama may give us another Reagan! God bless Ronald Reagan’s memory and God Bless Nancy Reagan, whom Obama insulted last week. He is so sick, Obama is insane.
And what happened after that? LBJ and the 'Rats in charge ruined the country. Even Johnson had to throw in the towel. And the 'Pubs were back in the WH four years later, albeit with a moderate-conservative candidate. So, bide your time, 'Rats. It may be shorter than you think.
That's the last thing anybody wants. However, the economic situation is dire due to increasingly liberal spending and the security requirements against foreign powers have not disappeared with the fall of the USSR. The world has not become rosy. Mr Obama will be unable to solve these problems with even more liberal spending and they will grow.
That's not true. Weathermen (the kind on TV, not the domestic terrorist kind) are wrong much more often.
When Obama fails to walk on water, heal the sick, raise the dead and change water into wine the public will revolt.
You would only have one account base. The Unions.
Actually, the Democrats had a bigger majority in both houses of Congress when Carter took office than Obama will have (including a filibuster proof Senate). We know how well that worked out for them.
