Ingrid Ocampo said her autistic son waited a year for services from the Philadelphia School District because she does not speak English and couldn't understand the district's forms and policies.
Irma Zamora, another public school parent, expressed concern about signing permission slips printed in a language she can't read. ---snip--- "We want to know how our kids are doing in math, how they're doing in social sciences. We want to know how the school is organized," said Zamora, addressing district officials through a translator. "We want you to know that we are the same quality whether we speak English or not."

If mom can’t speak english, perhaps she should enroll in some adult education classes (night school or private tutoring). Or is she autistic too?
Come here illegally and then complain that you're not able to steal enough services. Tell the taxpayers to assist you in your theivery.
They'll feel right at home in the Obama camp when The One grants them voting rights.

Demanding illegal aliens PING
Plenty of libs working, in almost spiritual ecstasy, for “non-profits” that “raise awareness” and help these people thieve more of our tax money.
In our law office, none of us speak enough Spanish to do much good, so if a Spanish-speaking client wants services from us, he or she must bring a translator along. In the olden days, this is how immigrants got along: they leaned on members of their community who could speak English and those people became local heroes for the immigrant kids to emulate. Nowadays, community organizers come to groups like this, tell them they don’t have to do anything except demand services by the government. It further isolates them, puts them at the mercy of community organizers, and costs everyone a lot more money to meet their demands.
And while I care whether they are illegal, the school system doesn’t. Ever since it was ruled that the states had to provide public school education to illegals, the legal status of parents and pupils has been ruled irrelevant. But it is wrong not to do whatever we can to get these people to learn English. Instead they sit at their apartments and homes, often paid by welfare, watch their Spanish tv programs, associate only with themselves, shop at Spanish carnicerias, eat at Spanish restaurants, vote with Spanish ballots, etc., etc. And when they need government services, they demand taxpayers pay for their translators. What a country!! What a bunch of PC wimps we are for acceding to this.
The sneak into our country and suck us dry by using our “services” without paying for them and they expect us to bend over backwards to accomidate them. This is our country. They should be the ones who have to adapt.

As time progresses into the new CHANGE administation, how long do you think it will take for the 55 million disenfranchised voters who did not vote for socialism to admit that enough is enough.
There was a time when immigrants who came to this country learned english by watching TV, that doesn’t happen anymore because you have cable and satellite companies falling all over themselves providing TV shows from all over latin america. When you think about it, why should they learn english? everything is provided for them in their own language which means they never assimilate into American society, and was that the goal of political correctness anyway?
Illegal kids like Ingrid’s have taken the services from my legal kid. And, I have to foot the bill. Pox on all involved in this fiasco. I’m homeschooling him.
At the expense of everyone else, of course. Typical socialist.

In the 1800’s through the 1950’s immigrants were expected to learn English. What happened?
I thought that they were required to learn English to become citizens.
Regardless, many did so out of pride in their new found home. Many immigrants today are just like the rest of the vermin, looking for a free ride.
Learn English! Until then, use your OWN money to get a translator!
