Barr Votes Would Have Given GOP Wins in North Carolin and Indiana

Posted on 11/10/2008 12:33:31 PM PST by BlueStateBlues

If Barr's votes had gone to Palin and her running mate they would have won North Carolina and Indiana. North Carolina: Obama 49.9%, Palin 49.5%, Barr 0.6$ Indiana Obama 49.9%, Palin 49%, Barr 1.1% This would have been more important in a closer election, but it caught my interest when I looked the figures up.

Nonsense. I have voted Republican every time I see that the Republican candidate is clearly in favor of reducing government. I have voted third party (sometimes Libertarian, sometimes other) when the Republican candidate is not clear on that issue. I have never voted for a Democrat for any Federal office.

The GOP is socialist-lite and many Democrats registered Republican to make McCain win the primary. They didn't want Obama or Hillary, so their method worked, but ultimately failed.

The Republican Party in some states is an absolute waste of time and money. Conservatives are better off registering as Democrats and getting conservative candidates to beat the radical left's candidates at the primary level. If some states vote Democrat no matter what, conservatives should take advantage of that.

Let me get this straight. Your choices would have been a Democratic party that clearly wanted to expand government, a GOP that you claim was "not clear on that issue" to your satisfaction, and a Losertarian party or similar alternative who had no chance whatsoever of winning -- and you voted third party?

What a waste of your precious right to vote. This is how Obama won Indiana and North Carolina -- this is a clear cut case of the Losertarian party being worse than useless because it plays spolier in favor of the Democrats.

Barr did what he said he wanted to do, take votes away from the GOP and play the spoiler. Now someone needs to spoil him.......

What a waste of your precious right to vote.

The real waste of my right to vote was that ---

by the time I finally had the opportunity to vote in a Republican primary,

three good conservatives (Hunter, Tancredo, Thompson)

and two RINOS who still would have made good Presidents (Romney, Giulani)

were gone.

What I had left on my GOP ballot were a moonbat, and Mr. Magoo.

I can't blame any third party for that.

Sounds like the republican party should have nominated someone libertarians could stomach.

We have to do something about these damned Libertarians.

Perhaps an American Gulag is in order?

They’ve cost us Senate seats from coast to coast for over a decade and are creating more havoc as we speak.

Yes, of course, because votes are not earned. The Republican and Democrat party deserve them as a matter of right.

Losertarians are worse than useless.

Newsflash: Libertarians aren't responsible for Republican losses.

If someone with the personality of Bob Barr has taken votes from you, you really should have never run.

LOL. best comment on the thread so far!

The Republican coalition of 1994 totally fell apart. That’s why Obama won.

Facts don't matter to the GOP bootlickers.

BEFORE THE ELECTION:

"Ha! You Losertarians only get .0001% of the vote! Go smoke some pot or look at child porn!

AFTER THE ELECTION:

"Waaaa! Why did you Loserdopians make our RINOs lose? Waaa!"

There is no way Barr voters would ever vote for Obama. They would most likely stay home if Barr wasn’t on the ballet or hold their noses vote for McCain.

The some number that you talked about would be like 98% of them picking McCain over Obama.

Barr votes wouldn’t all go to McCain. When you poll 3rd party voters, you usually find that about a third of people wouldn’t have voted without the third party option and that the remainder split 2:1 for one candidate or the other.

No criticism of Barr? The guy is a blooming nutcase and anyone who thinks he’s more virtuous than McCain is smoking something.

I think it’s the reverse. The GOP only reflects what we put in the mirror.

We’ve got to educate our fellow Americans first. We can start building the groundwork for the mid-terms now-—forget about the GOP. If the party sees its base actually doing its business and getting results, it will fall in line.

If the GOP wasn’t trying so desperately to jettison Constitutional principles, the libertarians wouldn’t need a separate Party.

If the GOP had any spine at all, we wouldn't have victim disarmament laws making our airlines such easy targets for suicide pilots.

Thanks to capitulating RINO's, the commies are now in control.

Thanks for nothing...

How about Republicans quite whining about third parties being spoilers and give the third party voters some incentive to vote for them (e.g. not doubling the size of government in eight years)?

Now that's just crazy talk! ;^P
