Last week we witnessed a watershed moment in American politics – an event that somehow helped erase past injustices, leaving in its historic wake a feeling of genuine optimism that had many of us exuberantly repeating that familiar slogan, "Yes we can!" I'm of course referring to President Bush's dog, Barney, biting a reporter on the finger.

For all the mistakes Bush made.things with which we may disagree with him about, he kept this nation safe for 7 years. I think we owe him a thanks for that and as I have done for his whole term will be sending a Christmas greeting to him and a real First Lady letting them know they have been appreciated.
