BREITBART: Obama voters conciliatory
WashTimes ^ | November 10, 2008 | Andrew Breitbart

There's change in the air. And hope smells like pumpkin pie fresh out of the oven.

A week after the Obama victory celebration in Grant Park, some exultant liberal victors are seeking to make Thanksgiving 2008 a joyful all-inclusive family experience for the first time since President Bush took office nearly eight years ago.

No, partisan wall builders Arianna Huffington and Markos Moulitsas are not preparing baked yams and apple pecan stuffing for an all-American buffet. Leftover "Rethuglican" rage will be served at the official Democrat table where Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will toast George Soros for underwriting a hate campaign against Pilgrim in Chief George W. Bush that successfully brought back Democratic Party rule.

Why change what works?

But in an online activist campaign entitled "52 to 48 with Love" some Obama supporters — without preconditions — are trying to reach out to their Republican foes as a "gesture of reconciliation." In a series of photographs uploaded to the Internet, mostly young faces are seen holding up handwritten signs expressing a solemn "Yes, We Can" message to political enemies.

One 20-something Caucasian girl wearing a tattered tan cap holds up a representative message:

Dear 48,

I promise:

to listen to you

Hey 52: There’s not much I can do to stop your agenda, but there’s no damn way I will help you with it. You can shove your reconciliation into a dark, warm place.

I still say this isn't new, but I can't remember where I saw this PR campaign before, or who took credit for its authorship. I find it kind of insulting, and I'm not all that sensitive to offense.

Dear 52,

I will continue to attempt to educate your ignorant skull full of mush. Unfortunately it is probably too late to hope to educate the Soviet Flag waving, Che T-Shirt wearing 5th columnists in our midst.

Once the flush has started it is hard to avoid being sucked down the drain.

Feel the love when the moonbats get their first W2 after the Bush tax cuts expire and they get their notice to report for 100 hours of mandatory ‘community service’.

It appears that some among the “52” realize what happens when Atlas does shrug.

They are terrified of this.

I have a lib "friend" that referred to Bush's administration as a "reign of terror". I wrote an email that said this:

You go wherever you want to go, you say whatever you want to say, you write what you want to write, eat what you want to eat and go to work every day - wherever you please - without fear of arrest because of your political convictions. This is a reign of terror? My God, I wonder what those who lived under Saddam or Papa Doc would say about your "reign of terror."

I think this type of madness is what has us so divided. When there is a logical difference of opinions, fine, we can all live with that. But reign of terror stretches it a bit, don't you think? I don't hate Obama - I just think he's a Marxist, and in my America Marxism doesn't play. But I will say this - he's not trying real hard to hide it. All the warning signs are there, and if the electorate chooses to hide behind the skirts of the MSM, they will get the government they deserve. Make no mistake, he is promising change and he will deliver it. I will not like it - but you may. He will, however, never be my President, never have one ounce of my support, or a single drop of sweat from my brow.

I will not work for him; I will go to the ends of the earth to avoid contributing to his utopian society which punishes the most productive and rewards the least. I will pray that his unilateral disarmament will not result in the destruction of American cities; I will pray that Israel is spared nuclear holocaust at the hands of a madman mullah with whom we shall diplomatically "engage"; I will continue to watch with horror as the Islamicization of Western Europe speeds on to its inevitable conclusion and wait for the first tell-tale signs to show up on our shores.

I will note with disgust the advent of a one-party United states, as the Republican Party is effectively legislated out of existence. How? Continue to create a dependent class - a class dependent upon Democrat largesse. Further solidify this "base" be making tens of millions of illegal aliens citizens, or simply give them the right to vote by judicial fiat.

I will wonder when the willing suspension of free speech under the guise of the Fairness Doctrine and the criminalization of "hate" speech will be enacted. I will wonder if our new "national police force, funded and equipped as well as our military" will enforce these "hate speech" laws. I will wonder what happened to the America of my youth, where my right to free speech trumped all other rights, including your right not to be offended by my remarks. I will wonder if the return of the draft is inevitable as re-enlistments decline, as they will when a dispirited military is called home from Iraq, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, so that the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Schumer can speak of Bush's Failure instead of America's Success.

Ah, yes. Life under Obama, the One, the Messiah. Your president, not mine; I want no part of it. Good luck.

Here is the response I received from this 58-year-old KosKid:

Democrats believe in supporting our president, regardless of party (look…enough of the Dems supported GWB to allow him to take us into an illegal and bankrupting assault on Iraq…his “reign of terror”); you have made up your mind already that you will not support in any way the next president of the United States, Obama God willing! What happened to the America of your youth?

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!? this was pre-election, and he was already nervous that Obama would be in for the same treatment they gave Bush. Did they think they operated in a vacuum? I must be in the twilight zone...

Yes, our entire family that voted for McCain has now cut off all ties with any obama supporter. No more - there are only two types of people in this country now - Patriots and Communists!

Remember the “Sorry Everybody” website when they lost last time?

Their photographic “group hug” and “temper tantrum”?

my son was debating a classmate online last night.

When she got cornered and knew she was losing she got emotional and said he was being offensive and hurt her democrat friend’s feelings.

You could tell he had no idea how to respond to that.

I told him this is how liberals always react when they lose.
I told him to explain to her how “she” had offended “him.”
Afterall - he was looking forward to having a real american who served his country well as president, and the democrats chose a marxist instead.

Now THAT is offensive!

Sounds like Obama must have issued orders for his little budding youth corps to “reach across the aisle” for him.

I intend to be absolutely fair and reciprocating .I will treat their jug-eared,pin-headed,stammering,radical left messiah with the respect deference they’ve showed the current president since Jan 20, 2001.

Dear Obama,

I promise to treat you with the same respect and support in which you and your followers treated President Bush.

I will afford you one thing that President Bush was denied, I will attack your policies and will not attack you as a person, as long as you don't dally in the Oval Office, start snorting coke again or are found to have been elected under fraudulent circumstances.

Sincerely,
Do not taint our Constitution with Marxism

Here is the 52 48 website. Feel the moonbat love!

I frankly find this insulting and phony. I don't know who those people are in the photos, but I'll bet a dollar a donut they are all examples of suburbis moonbatus, even the supposed 48's.

The whole site reeks of phoniness. For one thing, where are the minorities? What a white bread crowd. Where are the elderly? Blacks, Chinese, Hispanics?

I think the whole thing is as phony as CNN's fake election night hologram.
