Well stated, and fully concur. I have always believed that GWB will be favorably viewed through the long lens of history and the things that annoy his detractors so much will fade into the noise.
One of his accomplishments will certainly include keeping the homeland safe from terrorist attack since 9/11.
It was worth it alright. Winning Iraq until Obama withdraws and it is all for nothing, while at the same time losing the United States.
A mark that won't make it past 1 year of the new fuhrer's reign.
And all the advances made in Iraq will be given back in approximately the same time frame -- 16 months to get out, one month to total chaos.
ROTFLOL!
It did just the opposite!
That yellowcake was known and under UN seal from the Gulf War. The fact that it was still in yellowcake form means that there was no enrichment being done on it.
With the inspections stopped, we couldn't have known that was the case...but to pretend that the find shows a WMD program is ludicrous. The right answer is: we had no way of knowing there was no enrichment going on, but upon invading, we discovered there wasn't.
You betcha.
Yes, as Osama bin Laden put it, there’s no need to attack the US homeland as long as they were costing us far more with small expenditures of their own.
Agreed.
In fact, a single ton of Yellow Cake Uranium, properly fused and detonated, could make an entire city the size of New York City or Boston uninhabitable for years.
Sez who?
Iraq was worth it. GWB, however, was missing in action for the last two years. I am very disappointed that there was no fight left in him. I guess the constant fighting with the Dems and the press took it’s toll. However, no response to the global financial meltdown told the American people implied to the American people that he either didn’t get it, or he didn’t care. I would have named names, I would have explained just what happened so they could understand the depth of the Democrat cover up of their complicity in FNMA and Freddie Mac. It’s on the tape. Maxine Waters and Barney Frank saying there was NO CRISIS two years ago when recommendations were made for oversight. I am furious that he seemed to be disengaged on this issue that cost McCain the election and the Republicans more seats. Does anyone agree with me?
We claimed there was an active WMD program.
I must say I find this story not credible. It is like 5,000,000 PUMA poised ready to vote for McCain. It's like waiting for the final story that will force Obama to stand down as the nominee.
And when 0bama’s stormtroopers come into your home and ask, are you for his plans or for the terrorists?
In fact, a single ton of Yellow Cake Uranium, properly fused and detonated, could make an entire city the size of New York City or Boston uninhabitable for years.
Nonsense. As for "detonating" it in a city, uranium is not explosive. You'd have to blow it up with a large amount of conventional explosive in order to disperse it into the air. And since the toxicity of yellow cake uranium is roughly the same as lead based paint it would be a lot of trouble for very little effect.
And it's not like a ton uranium is going to fit in a suit case anyway.
Gonna call you on that one. Yes dirty bombs are dangerous, but they have been over hyped. Also, cleanup after a dirty bomb is possible unlike a TN detonation. So the notion of rendering NYC "uninhabitable for years" with a nuclear contaminant is really quite a stretch.
But I agree invading Iraq was worth it.
And the evidence wasn't there.
But we couldn't have known there was no program, with the inspectors not being allowed in.
Still...once we went in, we didn't find a program, and this yellowcake was sitting there, unenriched. The seals were evidently intact until broken by our troops when they captured the area.
