This is only wrong when conservative churches do it, right?

I’m sure they were jumping pews, running the aisles, and rolling on the floor.

And on the day that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. famously called "the most segregated day of the week," black and white Christian clergy members asked God to give Obama the wisdom and strength to lead the country out of what many consider a wilderness of despair and gloom.

Our church prayed for president-elect Obama, too...for his wisdom, strength, and salvation.

Let’s check in with them this time next year to see how they feel. Of course, any negatives will be blamed on the “obstructionist” Republicans in the Senate.

I can not help but empathize with Blacks in this moment in time. This is very meaningful to them.

But this part of history is now over. We are now faced with a clueless socialist in the WH who is going to be bringing gasoline to the fire.

“”God has vindicated the black folk,”

“Vindicated” seems to be a very strange choice of a word.

The underlying sentiment is very telling.

Just sayin’.

I just wonder when Farrakhan is going to dine at the WH.

God Damn America. The chickens have come home to roost, on the pews of America’s Black Churches.

Amen!

Barrak = 6
Hussein = 7
Obama = 5

Divide by 3 = 6 +6 +6

"Our church prayed for president-elect Obama, too...for his wisdom, strength, and salvation."

As every church and temple should. That is not political in any way, IMO.

I heard he is 12%black, 38%Arab, and 50% White. But I guess black is the most important part after all.

Not all Blacks are celebrating (or gloating) on President-elect Obamas's victory in church.

...There were a few scowling faces (mine included) today when one of our associate ministers gave the message 'A Chance to make a Change.' During the opening remarks he talked about the historic aspects of the election, and got in a couple of digs at the current administration, paraphrasing a guest preacher (who is normally better than this) who stated God allowed President Bush to get in and 'mess things up badly' and position Obama to come in now.

And it didn't end there. After Sunday School an Obama supporter came up to me and took note of the fact that there were many of us who'd supported McCain, and that many things had been 'camouflaged' from us with him and Bush, including an abortion some woman had had (I kid you not). I did tell her that while I did not vote for the President-elect, I would pray for him to govern well and be successful--not for the sake of the Democrat Party but for the sake of our nation. So that means when he does something right, cool; if not, Red Flag!

These people have no clue. They have been played and used- big time. I suggest they learn the meaning of the word ‘scapegoat’.

blacks have proved racism is strong in this country and no matter how much the media tries to down play it the black community have proved beyond doubt they base their thought and views on color not views and thinking

also can white churches now mention openly without fear from the Govt and media talk about politics

when will these churches be getting their faith based money

ARF
