The economic crisis will not stop President-elect Barack Obama from expanding health care, overhauling education and energy policy, and passing a middle-class tax cut soon after he takes office in January, senior aides said on Sunday.

*snip*

These include extending heath care to the nation's 47 million uninsured, reducing U.S. reliance on foreign oil, and improving public education, Podesta said.

How is going to decrease our dependence on foreign oil while opposing drilling for oil?
___________________________

That’s an easy one, an economic depression will reduce our need for oil overall pretty dramatically.

All the dems plan to do is print money - they will build more printing presses if need be. The glorious rule of “the one” will not be impeded by trifles like money supply, inflation and the price of a loaf of bread...

Neoliberal with a “Human Face”
There is no indication that Obama will break his ties to his Wall Street sponsors, who largely funded his election campaign.
Goldman Sachs, J. P. Morgan Chase, Citigroup, Bill Gates’ Microsoft are among his main campaign contributors.
Warren Buffett, among the the world’s richest individuals, not only supported Barak Obama’s election campaign, he is a member of his transition team, which plays a key role deciding the composition of Obama’s cabinet.
Warren Buffett
Unless there is a major upheaval in the system of political appointments to key positions, an alternative Obama economic agenda geared towards poverty alleviation and employment creation is highly unlikely.

What we are witnessing is continuity.
Obama provides a “ human face” to the status quo. This human face serves to mislead Americans on the nature of the economic and political process.
The neoliberal economic reforms remain intact.
The substance of these reforms including the “bailout” of America’s  largest financial institutions ultimately destroys the real economy, while spearheading entire areas of manufacturing and the services economy into bankruptcy.

Sell Alaska back to the Russians?

Don't give him any ideas, he might just do that to try and disqualify Palin from running in 2012!

J. P. Morgan Chase, Citigroup

In short, the Federal Reserve... Now, *why* am I NOT surprised? And, why am I NOT surprised by the little stunt they pulled about 6 weeks out from Election Day, with their *need* for an immediate bailout of the banking industry, at taxpayer expense? This is banana-republic style politics...

Damn the economy -— full spending ahead..
I never realized how active the Office of the President Elect was. I promised myself that I would respect the Office of the President. But constantly seeing this guys face on TV as “President Elect: and him demanding his stimulus spending package is enough. I’ve had it.
We have seen your face on Television every day for the past two years. You ran a great campaign and won the election “hands down” Please, give us all a break, take some time off, enjoy your children, you’ve got us on information overload. Give it a rest, your ego is getting the best of you.

Plus he plans on bankrupting the coal industry. I guess we will just have to burn acorns for fuel. Goodness knows there are enough of them around.

Seriously, I’m no economist, but has he thought anything through? Unless he has and his object is to turn us into a third world country. Then the world will love us because we will all be equally poor.

Belligerence. It is what we have seen with Obama and what we have seen of every black President of every African nation. Even Obama even personally visitied with and supported Raila Odinga, the murdering Kenyan whackjob. Why would we expect anything different from him now?
