The economic crisis will not stop President-elect Barack Obama from expanding health care, overhauling education and energy policy, and passing a middle-class tax cut soon after he takes office in January, senior aides said on Sunday.
*snip*
These include extending heath care to the nation's 47 million uninsured, reducing U.S. reliance on foreign oil, and improving public education, Podesta said.

"... this one containing a tax cut for the middle class and job-creating construction projects. He declined to say whether Obama would still pursue a tax increase for the wealthiest Americans.
Obama's stimulus proposals have been estimated to cost around $190 billion.
He is likely also to move quickly to reverse certain executive orders by President George W. Bush's outgoing administration. These include orders on stem cell research and oil and gas drilling in some areas, Podesta told Fox News Sunday.

The GOP had better filibuster this huge spending spree, which is both outside the Affirmative Action President's mandate and a risky move when we are already facing an economic crisis.

Good...please... I beg you President Obama... please run your socialist program at full-throttle.. we’re dying to see how you can create jobs from the ‘bottom-up!”
Please legalize the 40 millions illegal and tell them to create jobs for me!

“Energy independence” a priority?
Watch the price of gasoline skyrocket back up near $5 a gallon next year, and see how popular the Obama administration remains.

Let’s not think about that pesky deficit, shall we?
To: Texas Eagle
It should simply read:
Obama’s priorities will stop the economy.
That’s about right.

Which brings up an interesting question. How is going to decrease our dependence on foreign oil while opposing drilling for oil?

Those Republicans we have left in Congress better get their act together and speak out loud and clear about this bankrupting more of the treasury. Remember how the Dems talked about the deficit — well our Republicans better start doing the same day after day.
Time to start preparing for the 2010 elections and speak with one voice on were we stand as Republicans.
My prediction is that the American people are going to get buyer’s remorse very quickly.

The democrats created the first depression, prolonged it by govt policy and it took a world war to escape their control. Here we go again.

Perhaps this is what will save us. Obama’s policies have to fail because they are so stupid. Most of the people who voted for him didn't even know what his policies were. Well they are going to know what his policies are and they are not going to like them at all. Stupid People!
It's all a matter of how much damage Obama can do in one term. Ironically the only way for him to be semi-sucessful is for none of his policies to be enacted. They economy will eventually correct itself. When things hit the fan as they surely will I plan on grinding it into the people who I know who voted for him. I will be ruthless!

We expect him to be just as successful as FDR was with his similar measures.
