As I said, the men who created this great nation thought it was incumbent upon elected officials to serve the people for a limited period of time and then they go back to their private lives.

The Founders/Framers didn't make term limits part of the Constitution for the reasons I mentioned. Also, setting aside partisanship, the two party system has worked well for over 200 years.

The real problem recently has been, that one of the two major parties has gone socialistic and the other one has lurched too far to the left. In that regard, the time may be right for the creation of a real “Conservative Party”. We shall see.

I’m in favor of many new parties on all sides. And people given the ability to vote for their primary choice and the one from the main party they would be least disgusted with.

Viewing things for the best of the country, we won’t be hurt by having more ideas out there to choose from. We are hurt by two parties having a stranglehold on things.

America isn't Europe. If you like having more than two major parties, move to France.

Appealing to the middle is one thing.

But standing up for life and the far right is not counter-productive. We MUST return to our Republican roots.

Wow, just wow. So instead of working on something I think would make America better, I should just leave it. Interesting.

Why would more parties with a chance of putting someone in office be bad?

There are only two ways to restore the constitutional limits of the federal government. You can somehow convince the majority of Americans to vote for true conservatives for at least 20 straight years. Then you need divide intervention to keep the elected officials from 'going native' once they spend a few years in D.C.

The other is an overthrow of the government including banishing all politicians, lobbyists, beaurocrats and the rest of the inside-the-beltway gang.

The first will take a string of extraordinary leaders to pull off. The Pax Reagana lasted less than 20 years after his departure from the White House. The second is currently impossible since the idea of armed revolution is abhorrent to most people at this time (including me).

I don't think non party members should be given a choice in the nomination process. The primaries are for the parties to decide their choice. Public offices shouldn't be like a convoluted sports playoff system. If people want to vote in the primaries they should join a party thet supports their views. Otherwise they don't get a say until election day.

There are inherent disadvantages of the two party system and George Washington warned us about them. But we also don't want the travisty of European politics where the majority party has to make deals with the Green Party or the Socialist Party to make a working coalition to govern. The minority parties are one of the primary reasons that Eorupe has been driven so far to the left.

I was meaning that we should get a chance to vote for who we would most like to see win in the general election and then also for the republican or democrat they would like.

We are moving left with two parties. With more parties they will have to make deals with parties actually on the left as opposed to the Republicans continually sliding left.

Citizen Legislator doesn’t mean you can’t choose who you want. In the last 100 years or so career politicians have increased. From the the days of 2 terms maximum to 5 terms average. With that you have increased corruption and special interest influence.

Terms limits are needed.

How do you like my other reforms? I don't think the American public is serious about stopping corruption and really straightening out Congress.

I would put on there: Limit federally funded public subsidies to U.S. legal residents only.

No more foods stamps, section-8, HUD, or free education to illegals. States caught doing this, get their funding reduced/ revoked in clear and certain terms.
