Most Implausible Palin Story of the Week?
Weekly Standard ^ | 11.08.08 | Posted by John McCormack

Posted on 11/09/2008 4:18:43 AM PST by Perdogg

Via Isaac Chotiner, Newsweek reports:

The day of the third debate, Palin refused to go onstage with New Hampshire GOP Sen. John Sununu and Jeb Bradley, a New Hampshire congressman running for the Senate, because they were pro-choice and because Bradley opposed drilling in Alaska.

The McCain campaign ordered her onstage at the next campaign stop, but she refused to acknowledge the two Republican candidates standing behind her.

So according to the hatchet man/woman who talked to Newsweek, Palin is such an ideologue about drilling in ANWR that she won't stand next to Bradley, even though John McCain has the exact same position?

seriously...it’s too bad conservatives haven’t fought for their ideals and stood up for them the way this woman has- maybe we wouldn’t have gotten our butts kicked in the last two elections....

the contradiction here is funny....the rat wing media claims Palin was bad for the ticket...now they are, in part, blaming here for Sunnunu’s loss by not standing with him....which is it dirtbags???

"I suspect that the McCain campaign (and the Republican party in general) has been infiltrated at a very high level by moles from the RAT party."

I agree, and if McCain's inability to surround himself with a competent campaign staff is any indication of how he would have selected his Cabinet, his political appointments and his Supreme Court nominees, our country is just as well off without him at the helm. At least with Obama, we know we have a man in the White House we can't trust and must carefully watch every move he makes.

Does anyone think that MAYBE this stuff is just a form of psycho-warfare?

I usually don’t get into conspiracy stuff, but it is so voluminous and vitriolic, that it makes me wonder.

Did the dems eat their own in 2004?

Sarah Palin is indeed sui generis among vice presidential candidates.

When has a vice presidential candidate actually inspired voters to back an uninspiring presidential candidate?

When has a vice presidential candidate outdrawn both presidential candidates on television and at public rallies?

When has a defeated vice presidential candidate become an instant frontrunner for the next presidential nomination, with an energetic base ready to start organizing the day after a crushing defeat, instead of being dispatched to obscurity?

If Sarah can stand up under the present wave of attacks from the anonymous cowards sniping at her through the media, she can stand up to much worse to come in 2012.

I saw no sign of animosity.

Of course not, there was none.

This is the work of Obama operatives moving in for the kill while the Right is reeling from their loss.

All these lies and unsourced rumors are part of a Divide & Conquer strategy with Palin as the target.

Why? Obviously, they fear Palin!

The Dems didn’t eat their own in ‘04. They ate the republicans. Remember “it’s all George’s fault”

I wouldn't say “infiltrated”... more like... “invited”.

It appears that way.. McLames handlers in the Palin camp seem to be a malignant disease.. John McShame losing the election might not be a tactical accident but a planned event..

This is BS. I’ve known John Sununu since he first ran for Congress. He has told me personally that he is pro-life, with the exception of cases of rape or incest. I wish he were completely across the board pro-life, but he had a 100% pro-life voting record.

Newsweak is on a jihad against Sarah, but she is tougher than they are, and she will last longer than they last. They’ll soon go the way of USN&WR and no longer use any ink. So much for taking on those who buy ink by the barrel.

Sarah is The One, not the other one.

It probably isn't, but our general reactions to these stories makes it appear that way.

Perhaps you should school the so-called "reporter" who wrote this article and send him one of your photos.

People, we are going to need a factcheck running constantly on Sarah retroactive from the time of her nomination until 2012. You can see right now where this is headed. They are not EVER going to stop Borking her, because they must make sure she never runs for POTUS. They will keep carpet-bombing her with unsourced stories like this so they can point back to their own article as "proof" of her incompetence. It is already clear how many imbeciles we have in this country who will swallow this BS hook, line & sinker.

All I see is a woman who will not compromise her principles.
Sarah is the ideal person to lead Conservatives.
The Conservative movement cannot afford to yield ground to any assault on its principles no matter how inconsequential they are.

I don’t know.

I was watching CNN yesterday afternoon, when the announcer said something to the effect of Sarah Palin “Lashes out” at her detracters.

Her actual response was anything but lashing out. It was given in a calm, and reasonable manner, and certainly nothing that could remotely be called lashing out.

It’s like if you repeat something enough times, then people will believe it.
