Congratulations to Barack Obama. The American electorate has decided that you will be our next president. As I have stated, I will honor and support my president, but there will be no free ride. When President-Elect Obama takes office in January, his term of service to the American people begins. We wish our new president blessings of wisdom and good judgment, and we pray he hearkens to our voice if ever we feel our American Dream is being threatened. It will be a loud voice, so good luck trying to ignore it.
Since we have launched this website, tens of thousands of you have expressed your desire to join this movement. I am truly humbled by your support, your kind words of encouragement and your becoming a part of something that I believe we all feel can truly change the course of this country for the better.
For those of you just visiting this website, remember that real change in America will only begin if the backbone of this country becomes personally involved in demanding more from our elected officials, and by helping one another in times of need. This is our mission. This is our fight. This is our time to secure our American Dream.

Do you think you are up against a group of ANGLO-SAXONS? We are up against SCUM OF THE EARTH. Maybe this website would be a better place for you to hang out.

The Shining City on the Hill exists, very few of that Greatest Generation still survive, I am fairly ashamed of my Generation...
Life was so much easier in the 60’s and 70’s, hell you could save yourself just by hiding under a desk!
(But on a lighter note I still wouldn’t mind hosting a big Lovefest in “my” muddy field if I had a little ticket cut along with the Beer and Parking Concessions, then I would probably make a fortune selling carbon offsets by promising to re-cycle all of the trash they leave in a responsible manner)

He’s gonna need this site to defend himself when Obama brings the Federal government after him.

Let me provide a quick preface that my leanings are almost always to the right. One of the greatest things this country does; is the transfer of power from the out-going President to the in-coming President. Even during the bitter election of 2000, when the outcome was determined; the transfer of power was performed without incident. Once the President Elect takes the oath and is sworn it, I too, will treat the office with the utmost respect. However, as part of our civil duties, when issues come up that are against my values, principles, we will engage all parties to persuade others to see our point of view, position, belief, etc. Opposing other points of view is not grid-lock, or being mean spirited. It is the debate of different beliefs, principles, points of view, and it shoud be high spirited as many of the values are personal to each individual. We challenged our own President, when we felt his ideas were contrary to our positions. I think this type of exchange of ideas is Bengali's to all those who participate.
So my fellow brothers and sisters in conservative ideas, I too, have chosen to take the higher moral option when it comes to our opponents. Believe me, there are times I would like to get down and dirty, but I think back to the 2000 election, the shrillness, hatred, and total lack of respect for the Office of the President of the United States. As conservatives, we tend to possess a moral compass that draws a certain line that just cannot be crossed.
We look forward to debates, exchange of ideas, and doing what's best for the citizens of this great country. Democrats you now control Congress and the White House. Use your power wisely as we will be here holding your feet to the fire. I truly hope that what you all saw in your President-Elect allows him to truly govern for the people. I'm still looking but I don't see it, that makes me skeptical, and very Larry of the power entrusted to all of you. We are not going anywhere; we will reorganize, look for new leaders for our party, and constantly keep a watchful eye on all of you.
Joe - Congratulations and kudos for bringing some reality to this National Script. Until you asked that question, there was little to no deviation from that script. Personally, I don't think that is a good thing, we should have the ability to ask questions, raise issues, demand answers, without any fear of what you went through. That should not happen in this great country. I admire your resolve keeping focused while all this was whirling about, and it appears positive things have come from it. Wherever the forum is: public space, your frontyard, the internet, We the People retain the Power entrusted to us by our foundng fathers as written in our Constitution.

///In the end, hes just another typical Republican hypocrite///
To quote Maha Rushi... Conservatives brag about how many people are not on Welfare... not how many they got on Welfare.
Point is if Welfare was used as a hand up instead of a handout...
I lived in New Orleans witnessed first hand the destruction of the Black Family... 4 or 5 Generations that knew nothing but Welfare...
Seems to me you are comparing a mosquito bite to a decapitation and you know of the exaggeration yet bravely dive into that cesspool.
You won’t last long, here on a mere forum or in real life if you can possible rationalize the two.
I wish you luck but ask that you do not procreate

If you think I'm going to link to that website you are crazy. The term Anglo-Saxon in the context I used it was to refer to a group of very polite, civil, and dignified people. Our adversaries in this struggle are nothing like that. They are some of the meanest, nastiest, and vicious people you can ever want to imagine. I've been following politics for a long time and I know what we are up against. I also referred to Marquis of Queensberry Rules which are the way we have been fighting. You may not know what this means and I don't have the time for remedial training so just look it up on Google or whatever search engine. As I said the Left comes in with a lead pipe. If you don't know this by now you haven't been paying attention. They are in fact SCUM OF THE EARTH. I've been fighting these creeps for over 20 years. Know your enemy.

Seems like you and Joe have something in common. Both of you have been attacked by a corrupt government. Too bad you choose to attack Joe for what the Obama media stooges assisted by some corrupt government bureaucrats have managed to turn into a story about him instead of Obama.
Joe's just an average guy who happened to have a better handle on fair tax policy than Obama or McCain. No, he is not the ideal conservative but he stood up to the Marxist when he had the chance.
It's time we stopped being distracted into attacking the Joe the Plumbers of this country and concentrate on attacking the corrupt government and the lying media who cover for them. For all we know, most of the stuff on Joe that you find in a Google search is lies and half-truths. What they put on Fox and the rest of the media is no better. Just look at what they've been saying about Palin.

If you were down they would stomp you. Look at the way they treated Bush for 8 years. Look at the way they treated Sara. Never forget. Crush the LEFT!I know exactly what type of people we are dealing with; I will never behave like them, the haters. I am going to fight them in the arena of debate using ideas as my weapon. I am not going to behave like a sore loser. I can stand firm with good cheer.

There is no feasible movement that does not have as its goal abolishing the pernicious influence of the left once and for all.

well I am happilly retired, proud of my military service and what I have done for my community, and could care less about your dribble....... I have my own mind and don’t follow the crouds, if you are at peace with yourself, that is all that matters...then you might see it in others and form your own opinions

Believe me, I feel I have a good picture of our enemy. I am aware of the lead pipe, and aware that many people want to fight them with white gloves. I too, believe this is a continuous war on ideas, principles, beliefs, However, we just fought a battle within this continuous war and we got our ass kicked.
We can beat them with our ideas, principles, and values. For God sakes we certainly have the damn Army out in the trenches. We have all been fighting these battles for years now. What do they have to put up against our beliefs; nothing but emotions. Do you realize this guy campaigned for over two years just talking about change. If we can't organize and beat that, that's sad.

The thing about Joe the Plummer is that he is NOT real, just a prop to try to tell a story....He is not really a plummer, had taken public assistance and is NOT who he pretends to be....that is the media focus on this guy....they will look into everybody and if they are full of BS, they will expose them...that is their job.
The deal with Palin is she didnt stop the bridge to nowhere among many other things she boasted about the night she addressed the convention. Is it not a conservative quality to expect the truth out of people ? that is where I am coming from
To: 2ndDivisionVet
If Joe thought the tin-pot dictators of Ohio caused him trouble, just wait until Obama gets presidential powers.
He's in my prayers.

How is it Joe’s fault if he received welfare when he was a child? He had no control over what his parent(s) did. Why is it even relevant to the discussion except as a way to diminish him and his influence?

I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him.-- Booker T. Washington
For all of the hate that the left focused against Bush, they still didn't defeat him. He was reelected 4 years ago by a wider margin than he was in 2000.
Righteous anger and coordinated efforts at opposition to Obama's misguided policies will succeed in bringing this country back to conservative values. Hatred directed at Obama will only result in the his media sycophants and the collectivists masses to rally to his defense.

Is it at all possible that this has all been just a major transcription error, that way back in 2007 or whatever it was that Obama said “change” what he really said was “chains” and a lousy typist is to blame?

I agree with you, they usually put the guy (if single) to work, however, if he has a family I think they can put the whole family on welfare.....there are many articles (just Google Joe the plummer AND taxes) about his back taxes, the lien on his property, the fact he never was a licensed plummer, and never got a journeymens license to practice under someone else....as I said before, not a good example. I am a Viet Nam Era Vet and we had a lot of agencies to help us find work once we returned from active duty, dont know about good ole JOe tho. Guess what cowboy? I've been on WELFARE! Yes, I admit I accepted WIC for 6 months when my first child was an infant. I guess that means I can't ask a question of someone running for President, or that I have no credibility or something?
He never had a license because he didn't need a license because his boss has a perfectly valid license.
Joe is the PERFECT example of a regular guy because that is exactly what he IS. Sometimes people have trouble in life. I guess in your way of thinking only the perfect among us is allowed to have a public voice.

you have so much hatred going you see it in what you read....I am not saying anything is wrong with welfare, but when you have used it in your past you can’t legitimately call it socialism when others need it....that is all I am saying ......
To: Dianna; Searching4Justice
I, too, have personally known more than one person who accepted help with welfare at a time when they were at rock bottom. One went on to get a law degree in the passing years and the other is now living a very comfortable and independently-earned lifestyle. Both of these people were in a very hard place at one time in their life, and yet did all they could to become indepenedent, which they did.
There are times and circumstances when some among us are humbled and brought low, but have the courage to rise again.
Both of these people I know would not—and are not—afraid to have “a public voice” and to be part of of their own destiny.
It is the unhappy fact of generational dependence on government that is a problem.
