If Russia and Sweden once again will find themselves in a military conflict (last time was 1809, when Sweden lost Finland), a wild stab in the dark of a guess would be that Gripens will play a role in fending off the bear.
The SAAB Gripen suffered from some initial problems, but has turned out a very interesting and competent plane. This is, to a large extent, thanks to British BAE Systems.
God save the Queen.
In order to watch the recent "show off" at Linköping, Sweden, just click the link below.
What Link????????????
Since Obma will kill the JSF program, and our military in general, I’ts imperative our allies do something on thier own.
Good on them.
“What Link????????????”
- Check above instead :D
- I'm European but I can't understand why American tax payers should fund our defense.
The average European is poorer than the average American perhaps, but we're 500 million in the EU and we're not that poor.
If my Sweden (9 million inhabitants!) could develop a fighter plane like this, France, Britain and Germany could certainly do more in the WOT area.
Europe should not let America down.
The comments are interesting.
“The comments are interesting.”
- I beg to differ.
They’re about protecting your dog’s ears from mach2 effects.
But okay, thoughtful.
“How much is the rust proofing and extended warranty?”
- Dunno, but the telephone number of the Swedish government is

The Russians do have some very good attack planes.
“Sweden will be observable only in bear scat within 6 hours of a confrontation with the Russians .”
- And the even smaller nation of Finland was ridiculed by the Russians in WWII.
“The Russians do have some very good attack planes.”
- Russia has a total of 2 pilots who could stay sober enough to find their way to the concrete Muslim ghettos of Stockholm.
But then, maybe your post is too.
I’m not so sure. The Russians dont have a good record against Scandinavia (see Winter War).
The Brits are doing plenty in the WOT. 10,000 troops deployed to Afghanistan and doing some real fighting.
