Note the use of the Great Seal of the United States at the upper left of the Web psge.
Interestingly, I saw a TV discussion on FNC today after Obama's press conference where the guest was comparing the rapidity with which Obama's transition is meeting with outgoing administration officials to how long it took Bush's transition team to do the same.
This pundit was saying that Bush officials waited until late December to make the contacts that the Obama team is making now.
I was yelling at the TV that the reason the Bush team took so long was that Gore contested the election, and Clinton held up transition funds until Gore finally conceded the election in mid-December, delaying the ability of Bush to form his transition team and do the things that Obama is doing now.
Along those lines, the Democrats were still delaying the confirmation of Bush's second-tier officials when 9/11 happened 8 months later.
Just a little historical perspective for the short-term memory people on the Left.

Close? It's been nothing but. It played a generation that is programmed to respond to branding and marketing. The whole thing reminds me of a microwave dinner. The picture on the box always looks wonderful: gourmet and wholesome. Then you open it up and cook it... and it's nasty, cafeteria-grade mush.
The United Nations globe would be more appropriate for him.
Actually he is allowed to use the title of President Elect per the Presidential Transition Act of 1963:
The terms President-elect and Vice-President-elect as used in this Act shall mean such persons as are the apparent successful candidates for the office of the President and Vice President, respectively, as ascertained by the Administrator following the general elections held to determine the electors of the President and Vice-President in accordance with title 3, United States code, sections 1 and 2.
It’s only a presidential privilege, isn’t it?
