...Three lawyers filed separate lawsuits on Wednesday claiming that Proposition 8 was an illegal constitutional revision, rather than an amendment....
"If they want to legalize gay marriage, what they should do is bring an initiative themselves and ask the people to approve it," Frank Schubert, co-chairman of the Proposition 8 campaign, told the LA Times... "But they dont. They go behind the peoples back to the courts and try and force an agenda on the rest of society."
In all three states... where same-sex marriage is or has been legal, it was imposed by a court decision and not by the legislature or the citizens....
Besides the lawsuits, reports of threats aimed at Christian and other religious groups have been pouring in since it became clear that Proposition 8 would pass.
In a blog entry... on Queerty.com, poster... Stenar asked, Can someone in CA please go burn down the Mormon temples there, PLEASE. I mean seriously. DO IT.
...Meanwhile, at JoeMyGod.blogspot.com, World O Jeff, said, Burn their fing churches to the ground, and then tax the charred timbers.... Joe, stated, I swear, Id murder people with my bare hands this morning.
And on the Americablog.com Web site, scottinsf posted, Trust me. Ive got a big list of names of mormons and catholics that were big supporters of Prop 8.... I warn them to watch their backs.
Matt Barber, Director of Cultural Affairs with both Liberty Alliance Action and Liberty Counsel, said, "...This is criminal activity. The homosexual lobby is always calling for tolerance and diversity and playing the role of victim. They claim to deplore violence and hate."
But now that the homosexual lobby is on the defensive, says Barber, they pull out all the stops in expressing their violent hate for religious believers and supporters of true marriage....

Start saying the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel, especially if you live California! See the above story.
"Hoist" was in Shakespeare's time the past participles of a verb "to hoise", which meant what "to hoist" does now: to lift. A petard (see under "peter out" for the etymology) was an explosive charge detonated by a slowly burning fuse. If the petard went off prematurely, then the sapper (military engineer; Shakespeare's "enginer") who planted it would be hurled into the air by the explosion. (Compare "up" in "to blow up".) A modern rendition might be: "It's fun to see the engineer blown up with his own bomb."
Homofascism, the new rage.
Deal! These libtards are the sorest losers known to God and man. Wha-a-a-a-a! I am so tired of them.
“The Left has NEVER been tolerant.”
Oh, they’re VERY tolerant; as long as you agree with them!
Why do I have a feeling that these violent threats against conservatives are going to spread nationwide under the Obama/Reid/Pelosi regime?
HATE CRIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wondering how is the reaction for the same thing in Az and Florida?
Well said. Perfect. True.
Couldn’t that crap be considered terrorist threats, hate crimes?
I’d like the AG of CA to investigate.
waaaaaaaa!
CCW ... the answer to unbridled lunatic rage.
Sure you would, sweetie. Friggin' queers.

Op-Ed from Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese on Approval of Proposition 8
On Tuesday night, our community felt the emotions of electing a pro-equality President and expanding our numbers in Congress and state houses across the country, but the next morning our hearts were broken as the dust settled and it was clear we lost the marriage ballot measures in California, Florida and Arizona...
And for those of you who gave your time and resources, your sacrifices were not in vain. You've helped lay the foundation for the victory that will one day be ours...
You can't take this away from me: Proposition 8 broke our hearts, but it did not end our fight.
...Every "Yes on 8" sign was a slap. For ...to LGBT people and the people who love us, its passage was worse than a slap in the face. It was nothing short of heartbreaking...
...But it is not the end...
...But make no mistake: I do not think we have to audition for equality. Rather, I believe that each and every one of us who has been hurt by this hateful ballot measure, and each and every one of us who is still fighting to be equal, has to confront the neighbors who hurt us. We have to say to the man with the Yes on 8 signyou disrespected my humanity, and I am not giving you a pass. I am not giving you a pass for explaining that you tolerate me, while at the same time denying that my family has a right to exist. I do not give you permission to say you have me as a "gay friend" when you cast a vote against my family, and my rights...
...This is not over. In California, our legal rights have been lost, but our human rights endure, and we will continue to fight for them.
Is there a particular book you found that in? The explanation of the Shakespeare quote I mean.
They’re taking out their anger on the wrong people.
I believe it was Rush (I could be wrong) that said it was the high African-American and Latino turn out that did them in. And that both African-American and Latino’s are for marriage and family.
Being threatened by gays is funny and scary at the same time. I didn’t know that was possible.
