"It is very possible, but only if Ted Stevens, the Alaskan Senator convicted for corruption, is able to hold on to his slim lead in this election. Which brings us to some very strange scenarios."

Suggesting that Sarah Palin might appoint herself to the Senate (as some have suggested) or play games with the Senate seat show a profound misreading of Alaskan politics and show how little the media looked at her record.
Maybe so...
Palin just does not remind me of the Clinton’s with there need to be in Politics 24/7...Sarah Palin reminds me of a great lady with true conservative values, who wants to make a difference in her state, make a difference for the good for her family and the people of Alaska...she doesn’t strike me as someone who has the need nor the desire to be in the Presidential Spotlight....
That’s just my take on it....
:0)
You said — “I missed her imply that she thought it wouldn’t work, or is that your inference?”
That was “by implication” that *I* made from her statements... It seemed to be an implication that she was making (but not that she said she was implying it...) — if you see what I mean...
any idea on what a “special election” entails? i’m assuming that the person who ran against Stevens will be running again, yes?
Remember just because Sarah is a decent, honest conservative in the tradition of Reagan doesn’t mean that she isn’t very ambitious or politically ruthless. The ideas are not mutually exclusive.
Obviously you are wrong....
Only 48 years.
Gov. Palin can own the energy issue right where she is, and it’ll propel her run. Having high tea with Post editors in Georgetown is no substitute.
I couldn’t say, because I’m not an expert on Alaska politics... I only got my information from listening to Governor Palin on a radio interview. She was pretty plain and clear on a lot of things and was pleasant to listen to and actually “gave some factual information” to the radio public... LOL...
So, you better ask some other Alaskans that may be around here...
Obama is setting a new precedent.
LOL yeah i like listening to her too... :)
btt
doesnt mean that she isnt very ambitious or politically ruthless..I guess that would be up to her and her decision between her husband and family....
I am just saying from what I heard her say, it did not seem she was giving any indication she had interest in running in 2012.
Palin for President 2012 Merchandise
They have bumperstickers.
Let her go to the Senate, it will clear the way for President Jindal.
i can't say it could never happen... i just don't see it... i guess i think the media has hurt her badly... so i'm thinking that a majority of American voters would not accept her... or that she may want to avoid putting herself through all of that again... but i know i may be very wrong about that... however, her state of Alaska loves her to pieces... i'm sure she can be senator... what if she were Speaker of the House someday? hahaha! the libs would hate that as much as we hate that Pelosi is Speaker...
yeah. The media has only destroyed her if we accept it.
Going to the Senate would be a dead-ender.
Anybody who wants her to be a factor in 2012 should hope she stays where she is.
Yes, this is true in all cases. According to the 17th amendment, an appointment can be made but an election shall be held. Usually the appointment would last until the next congressional election.
You really think they’ll treat her as an equal? Won’t happen. Even if she were elected President the way she’d be treated would make us long for the press’ handling of Bush.
