As far as I can tell Coburn is his own man and will do and say what he thinks is right no matter who it offends. Which is why I am glad he is my Senator.
He is actually one of the few who stuck to his self imposed term limits in the House. I don’t think he is worried about his image nearly as much as he is about the future of the country.
Coburn made a 2-term pledge for the Senate as well. After he supported the pork-laiden BAILOUT, I don’t know what to think about him, but wasn’t pleased at his reasons for supporting it.
That was certainly what I thought. But there are troubling things about this guest editorial. Just when he’s making good sense, he goes off track again. I hope it’s just a momentary aberration.
I agree with you — he has always put Country first and he is one of the most vocal opponents of earmarks in the Senate. Dr. Tom tells it like it is and if you don’t like it, tough, is the attitude I have seen out of him since he first took office.
Our completely Red State is lucky to have two Senators who don’t put their finger in the wind to see how it is blowing. They may not win a popularity contest but they stand up for Oklahomans and American which is what we send them to DC to do.
