Sarah Palin on "Small and Bitter" McCain Aides Trashing Her
The Weekly Standard ^ | 11/06/08 | John McCormack

Byron York, Jen Rubin, and Michelle Malkin all have smart takes on the McCain aides' smearing of Sarah Palin. The Anchorage Daily News has a couple videos of Sarah Palin talking to the press after arriving back in Alaska, and it looks like she's more than capable of defending herself, if she thought it was worth her time. Regarding the leaks against her, Palin said:

“If they’re an unnamed source, then that says it all. I won’t comment on anybody’s gossip, or allegations that are based on anonymous sources. That’s kind of a small, evidently bitter type of person who would anonymously charge something foolish like that, that I perhaps didn’t know an answer to a question.

“So until I know who was talking about it, I won’t have a comment on false allegations.”

Make tomorrows news headline- “ Due to Palin attacks by McCain staffers, thousands request RNC refunds.”

I have been reading all the hundreds of posts here, about the outrageous attacks by McCain staffers on Sarah Palin, and I see and hear nothing but deafening silence from the RNC and John McCain. It is now almost too late, for them to speak up now, as this has gone on all day long. I voted and contributed money ONLY after Sarah joined the ticket.I was extremely sad that John McCain did not allow her to speak at the concession rally, and did not shake her hand as he left the stage, but walked right by her. I have emailed the RNC and strongly voiced my disgust at the attacks on Sarah, and silence by all. On Fox News, Greta was plenty mad last night, I feel Bill O’Reilly should speak up, since this was aired on his show.
I have demanded my RNC contribution be refunded immediately. I would like to see Fridays news headline read, “100,000 RNC contributors request refunds due to unfair attacks on Gov. Palin.

McLame greenlighted this garbage when he threw her under the bus in the skit on SNL. I gave him a pass then, but now I believe that he tolerated attacks against her.

Your reaction to my earnest pleas are nothing less than Democratic.

In the true Obama style.

Yeah I saw O’Reilly spinning like the tires of a Neon in 2 feet of snow. He must have got hit with e-mail over the tabloid talk session with Queer Carl. Tonight he tried to defend it all by acting like the people who complained just didn't want to hear negative ‘news’ about Palin what he either didn't get or didn't want to get is anonymous gossip is not ‘news’. Someone needs to ask him how it is his sworn responsibility to make sure we know Sarah may or may not have answered the door in a towel.

What is wrong with you?

Are you so bitter and angry that you can't see what I'm saying?

I'm saying we must deal with the next four years and not indulge in bitterness, not let it cloud what we must do...yet you choose to strike out...to vent your anger,to ignore the obvious truth of my posts.

You know what? I understand that tendency.

I think the media did some permanent damage to Palin. She's made out to be the laughing stock of all politics.

Yeah, they tried to do that to Reagan, too. Didn't really work out the way the MSM thought it would.

The McCain aides really ill-served Palin. When Palin was being smeared left and right by the media, she wanted to address those smears. But the McCain felt it would be a distract from the campaign themes. Because Palin was being sheltered, her favarable ratings dropped. In order to fight the MSM, we have confront the smears head on. No more new tone.

I like her a lot, but I also think the damage will be permanent.

Wrong.

I hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see her stay in the news.

I think you might have been. ;^) I'd drive to Alaska just to shake her hand if I had the time. Alaska is known as the "Last Frontier" for a reason: you have to be prepared at all times to survive- there's no room for mistakes 'cause it could be deadly.

Therein lies the root of all conservatism. Individualism vs collectivism where if you rely upon others, you may not survive in a 'frontier' because, basically, you're on your own. There are no 'others' a half-hour's drive from Anchorage (for example).

For those not up to the task, life in City America is an option that has proven this election to hold sway by sheer numbers, democratically. And then there were school marms. And then there were Rap Artists.

This election pitted City America against Frontier America. City America won. But City America is corrupt and vile as most socialist systems become. It is Rham Emanuel and Acorn corrupt and vile.

So, City America will rule for four years as those who'd perish in Frontier America force us all to conform to their limited, socialist views.

Frontiers don't just exist in places like Alaska, they exist in our minds and the minds of those who founded this country. Individual liberty has no place in the 'City'. That's it in a nutshell. Too bad, so sad, I really don't care any more.

That's my girl too. In fact, she is one of the few “modern” Republicans that even Libertarians like. If it weren't for her, John McCain would have lost like Mondale did in the 80’s to Reagan.

I am extremely disappointed that Brit Hume, director of their news division, let Carl Cameron pass along anonymous gossip as he did.

Carl Cameron is guilty of journalistic malpractice:

All American Teachers Should Be Fired Immediately

This exposes Cameron for the classless scumbag that he is.

One of my coworkers was belittling Gov. Palin today.

Next time the pinhead starts in, ask him how he thinks Palin graduated from college without learning about Africa. Her parents were both schoolteachers, and her grade school, high and college teachers all failed in their duty to educate her.

Ask him if this is an indictment of American teachers in general. Perhaps we should just fire all American teachers, since apparently they're not providing any value for the money.

Make the loudmouth defend THAT line of reasoning.

Except Reagan was for business, less regulation, freedom, personal responsibility, the military, winning wars, pro-life and less taxes, but for that, yeah, you’re right, Obama is more like Reagan than Carter. What the hell are you thinking?
