Jake calm down. The people of California have had their say and they say no marriage for same sex partners.

Who’s religion is being attacked for faith?

Jake, Mormons haven't had multiple wives since before your great grandfather was alive, back in the 1800’s. You are referring to the offshoot groups. The LDS in California standing up for traditional families and ticking off the gays are the mainstream ones, not the ones you see on TV in Texas in funny clothes.

The Mormons aren’t being attacked for their faith, they’re being attacked because they gave monetary support (in huge amounts) to Prop. 8. It’s political, not religious.

But it’s still obviously the gay protesters here who are acting all persecuted.

Yep, we owe our Mormon friends a debt of gratitude, along with our Catholic friends. I don’t think our Southern Baptist church did anything for Prop 8. I’ll have to ask. If not, shame on us.

This really is for everyone:

First let’s clarify: as of 2006 there were 761,716 Mormons in California (5.5 million total in the US) and over 54 million people voted yes on this. Secondly, No against prop 8 raised more money by the end than did Yes on prop 8 according to the San Jose Mercury News, including six figure donations from several celebrities and the co-founders of Google.

So let’s do the math...hmmm doesn’t add up to me. But you know they have to blame someone...oh yes and lets be hateful about it. Calling a Mormon a bigot isn’t a hate crime, but calling a homosexual a fag is???

What's amazing to me is that those protesters marching against that church think that this action will bring people to their side. Yep, American Christians are in full support of people marching on churches. This will work/s. Frankly, I admire the Mormons for the support on this proposition and I admire the Catholics for their contribution. Evangelicals. Jews. Get over it Newsom. Whether you like it or not. We said NO.

The Parker ad run by the Yes on 8 campaign swayed enough voters in California to make the difference. Where it not for Atty Gen. Jerry Brown's biased title description designed to destroy its chance of passing, Prop. 8 would have gathered another ten percentage of the statewide vote. These people do not want to respect the rights of others. They want to trample over them and force feed their sick beliefs into our children's minds.

The teachers association donated a large sum of money to the tune of ONE MILLION DOLLARS for NO on 8. If all the homosexual people can protest and close down a place of worship and attempt to try to shut down a freeway that is, if they haven’t already succeeded, why not have the people protest against the people that have the majority of influence in the lives’ of children? If everyone that voted YES on 8 kept their children home from school more than 52% of the butts in the seats would be vacated. The way I figure, homosexuals cannot reproduce and to involve the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, God put male and female here to reproduce or in the Garden it would have been Adam and Steve, not Adam and Eve. But, anyways, the people that have reproduced, the heterosexuals, that have children, that are being influenced by people that clearly have voiced their opinion as a whole, that if you voted YES you obviously disagree with, why not keep them home? You might say, “And suffer their education? No Thanks. I’ll pass.” But all those children would probably be 75%-80% of all the children in the school. It is true that teachers get paid if there aren’t any butts in the seats, but they targeted one organization, why can’t we? If everyone that voted YES on 8 kept their students home, on the same day, and only for one day, that would be a statement all on it’s own. The YES on 8 supporters acted in a better manner than the no on 8 protesters. Personally, I am a new driver and not very experienced and a no on 8 protester literally jumped on the hood of my car, when the car was slightly rolling because I had the right-of-way (even though technically the pedestrian always has the right-of-way, I had the GREEN!!!!) and proceeded to bang on my hood and shout at me through the windshield, when did you see a YES on 8 supporter do that??? The YES on 8 supporters are more civil, just to point that out.

If they want it to be repealed, all I’m saying is show one day, before that happens, how many children lives’ are going to be influenced in a manner that parents will disagree with, because gay marriage will be put in literature and it will be considered discrimination to exclude it. There is a possibility that if it is appalled a vast majority of those parents will home school their children. How many districts are going to be closed down as a result? How many teachers will be fired? If they don’t settle down, the Yes on 8 supporters should rebuttal in one way or another, because there are many forms of retaliation and the squeaky wheel gets the oil, so we need to squeak louder, more annoyingly, and for as long as it takes.

The LDS church released this statement yesterday after the vote. I wish the gay community would read it.

The CHRISTIAN church released this statements CENTURIES ago. I wish the gay community would understand them:

Another of their favorite whines is, "How is my gay marriage going to harm your traditional marriage?"

( A scene at City Hall in San Francisco )

"Next."

"Good morning. We want to apply for a marriage license."

"Names?"

"Tim and Jim Jones."

"Jones? Are you related? I see a resemblance."

"Yes, we're brothers."

"Brothers? You can't get married."

"Why not? Aren't you giving marriage licenses to same gender couples?"

"Yes, thousands. But we haven't had any siblings. That's incest!"

"Incest?" No, we are not gay."

"Not gay? Then why do you want to get married?"

"For the financial benefits, of course. And we do love each other.
Besides, we don't have any other prospects."

"But we're issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples who've been
denied equal protection under the law. If you are not gay, you can get
married to a woman."

"Wait a minute. A gay man has the same right to marry a woman as I have.
But just because I'm straight doesn't mean I want to marry a woman.
I want to marry Jim."

"Are you going to discriminate against us just
because we are not gay?"

"All right, all right. I'll give you your license.

Next."

"Hi. We are here to get married."

"Names?"

"John Smith, Jane James, Robert Green, and June Johnson."

"Who wants to marry whom?"

"We all want to marry each other."

"But there are four of you!"

"That's right. You see, we're all bisexual. I love Jane and Robert, Jane
loves me and June, June loves Robert and Jane, and Robert loves June and
me. All of us getting married together is the only way that we can express
our sexual preferences in a marital relationship."

"But we've only been granting licenses to gay and lesbian couples."

"So you're discriminating against bisexuals!"

"No, it's just that, well, the traditional idea of marriage is that it's
just for couples."

"Since when are you standing on tradition?"

"Well, I mean, you have to draw the line somewhere."

"Who says? There's no logical reason to limit marriage to couples. The more
the better. Besides, we demand our rights! The mayor says the constitution
guarantees equal protection under the law. Give us a marriage license!"

"All right, all right.

 Next."

"Hello, I'd like a marriage license."

"In what names?"

"David Deets."

"And the other man?"

"That's all. I want to marry myself."

"Marry yourself? What do you mean?"

"Well, my psychiatrist says I have a dual personality, so I want to marry
the two together. Maybe I can file a joint income-tax return."

"That does it! I quit!! You people are making a mockery of marriage!!"
